I do not use the Smart start however I do know people that have and they state that it is almost impossible to get in to get their Smart start reconfigured. I have known that they turn customers away stating to come back later but have no guarantee that those people would be helped and they have no where to actually schedule any maintenance that needs to be done. This business should have a place where you can schedule your appointments. It should also be providing great customer service to those wanting to get there Smart start reconfigured. It is kind of ridiculous because this is something that is required of those people by law and they need a way of making it easier for those individuals. Telling somebody 'oh come back in 45 minutes' and then your location is closed, is very unprofessional and I'm sure that the press and maybe city officials would love to know how badly managed this location is.

Using a Smart Start Ignition Interlock is easy! When prompted, blow into the device for a few seconds until you hear a click that signals the test is complete.
How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.
What can breathalyzers detect?
Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
