- TDThat’s My DoggOct 20, 20251.0It's just a scheme to get your money the devices they have are made to fail so you can pay to get it recalibrated I've done it about nine times and 2 to 3 months because I had failed the test for no reason I hate Smart start ignition it's all about money I haven't complained about it and nothing's been done still have to pay them it's a bunch of BS sorry but that's my experience of being true

Front office lady ( Blanca ) super nice and waiting room was clean and has tv to keep you entertained. Easy access to see paid payments and lockout dates in my portal. Never had issues missing a payment, the automatic payment feature was great. Always greeted with a good attitude, usually always Tony! Armando was my last point of contact in the service window, told him I was finally due for removal. It was fast and no issues. They actually check to make sure you’re okay to remove your interlock. Very important to know that you shld always check with MVD prior, you don’t want to remove early. Better to remove later than early. I’d definitely recommend Smart Start for anyone who needs an interlock. Thank you Tony and Armando! 😃

What do I need to bring to my installation?
Bring a photo ID and proof of residence in the form of a document verifying your address. How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.
What can breathalyzers detect?
Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
Can I unplug my Ignition Interlock?
Check with your state authority to see if you are allowed to unplug your Ignition Interlock before doing so.
Can someone else drive my car?
Yes, but whoever is driving the vehicle MUST take a breath test and pass before driving. Any failed test will still be your responsibility.
