- AMAdam MMay 5, 20221.0Scheduled an install at 10 am. They said it would be about 2 hours to install. I showed up at 950. With my kids and all ready to drop vehicle off. As I walked in the door I was not greated by anyone for about 10 mins. Finally someone came from the back and very rudely asked "What do you want?" ( no hello or anything, didn't ask my name nothing) when I said I was there for an install again without asking who I was he said " We don't have the equipment on-site someone should of called you". That's it that's all I got he didn't even try to reschedule or anything. He said he doesn't have parts and showed the door. Very rude experience. I took off work , drove 40 mins and planned my whole day around a 2 hour install. Outlaw stereos puts all blame on smart start. The employee admitted to me that he fried 3 units in 4 days. Smart start has been extremely helpful to set up a new install. I would ask for anywhere else to install do not go to outlaw stereo. They have a place in foley that I will drive out of my way to before I ever deal with outlaw again.

Smart start/Outlaw car stereo figured out how to install the interlock device properly within ten minutes of being there while Nationwide/NWFL custom trucks couldn't figure it out in over a month!!! If you have to have an interlock installed, save yourself the nightmare hassle and go with Smart start/Outlaw car stereo!!!

How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.
What can breathalyzers detect?
Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
Can I unplug my Ignition Interlock?

Can someone else drive my car?
Yes, but whoever is driving the vehicle MUST take a breath test and pass before driving. Any failed test will still be your responsibility.
