Car sounds and alarms in Madison heights specifically has always been great friendly service especially for the circumstance. Nothing but good things to say about the service center location itself. Smart start on the other hand in my opinion is ridiculously over priced quite the money grab, because you don’t have another option. From downloads, equipment rentals, annual report fees etc. Unless you call exactly at 8AM customer service is always hard to get ahold of and on hold for well longer than needed if you can even get through without having to have them call you back. I will say everyone has always been pleasant when you speak with them no matter the circumstance. As far as equipment, only one equipment issue in 4.75 years having it so there does seem to be quality there. Giving this 2 stars because there are some positives with the pleasantness of the staff, missing the 3 stars because costs are astronomical. I get you have to learn a lesson but it is very pocket draining.

My Gladiator was taken into the shop on time for a Smart Start system. Ron took care of the installation on time and went through the procedures, making sure I operated it correctly.
Also, just a very pleasant guy!

Exact IID prices will vary by state, but you can find our current pricing on our Ignition Interlock Cost page on our website. Our expert Program Advisors are also available to provide you a custom quote and schedule your installation today!
How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.
What can breathalyzers detect?
Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
Can I unplug my Ignition Interlock?
Check with your state authority to see if you are allowed to unplug your Ignition Interlock before doing so.
Can someone else drive my car?
Yes, but whoever is driving the vehicle MUST take a breath test and pass before driving. Any failed test will still be your responsibility.
