    Says on your website L.A. Insurance services Smart Start devices. At least through Google Maps. You should probably correct that because it's misleading and very frustrating when a person goes there trying to get serviced before they're locked out of their device, and this is the only location that says it's open on weekends!! Not to mention I love 30 miles away!!

    Warning to all: My recent experience with Smart Start starkly highlights the company’s operational deficiencies and potential risks they pose to customers. What was promised as a streamlined solution turned into a hazardous obstacle course, reflecting not just a failure to meet appointments but a systemic issue affecting every aspect of their service. Two consecutive appointments vanished into thin air, with no explanation or remediation offered. The suggestion to simply try again felt like a disregard for the gravity of the situation—each failed appointment isn’t just a minor inconvenience; it's a critical setback in a process that’s vital for legal compliance and personal livelihood. The vendor locations, one absurdly being a junkyard barely resembling a professional establishment, reveal a troubling lack of vetting and oversight. The other a garage with nobody in attendance and the bays were closed. Others waiting as I was. This isn’t just about poor customer service; it’s about placing clients in potentially unsafe and utterly unprofessional scenarios. The cascading effect of these issues goes beyond wasted time—it strains relationships, impacts professional responsibilities, and adds unnecessary stress during already challenging times. I urge everyone to consider the REAL costs of engaging with Smart Start, beyond the surface inconvenience. It's a matter of safety, reliability, and respect for the serious responsibilities we entrust to them. Choose wisely and stay informed. I would have given zero stars if it was an option.

How long does the Ignition Interlock installation take?

Ignition Interlock installation will usually only take a couple of hours. Smart Start recommends blocking off at least two hours for your appointment. At some locations, you may be able to drop your vehicle off and pick it back up once installation is complete.Please note that installation time can vary depending on the make and model of your vehicle, and may take longer for electric and hybrid vehicles. What do I need to bring to my installation?

Bring a photo ID and proof of residence in the form of a document verifying your address. You may also be asked to bring any documents that pertain to your case, depending on the state in which you or your program are located. If any other documents are required, one of our friendly Program Advisors will let you know.
