- EEEFN EddieApr 10, 20253.0It's all about the money!!! If you happen to mess up and have to get one of these installed. Sorry , but get this behind you... fyi things they didn't tell me.. if your device asks you to blow as you get to your destination, blow into it, don't just let it beep and turn it off when u get to there.. that counts as a miss.. then you have to pay to have it reset it cost me over 100 dollars because I thought we'll I'm home and just turned it off.. so make sure you blow when it tells you. Also the court wants monthly reports (cost you more) but the smart start will do reports every 3months so look into that. Also it goes off whenever ur driving and of course they want to to pull over and blow.. well I'm sure most of you will just do it on the drive.. so be careful I think it's worse than a cell phone. What do I need to bring to my installation?

What do I need for removal?
Requirements will differ by state, but generally your state authority must grant removal authorization before you can have your IID removed. You will then need to fill out the Device Removal Request form on our website and upload any official documentation that may be required to authorize the removal.

How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.
What can breathalyzers detect?
Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
Can I unplug my Ignition Interlock?
Check with your state authority to see if you are allowed to unplug your Ignition Interlock before doing so.
Can someone else drive my car?
Yes, but whoever is driving the vehicle MUST take a breath test and pass before driving. Any failed test will still be your responsibility.
