Disappointed with Zurich Shield Package and Service Quality
I purchased the Zurich Shield "Rust and Undercoat" and elitePlus Appearance Protection from Smail GMC, expecting a premium level of care and protection for my truck. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several key areas.
After the very first wash, I noticed water spots across the surface—something I’ve never encountered with other appearance protection packages. It took considerable effort to remove them, which defeats the purpose of investing in such a product.
The undercoating application was also incomplete. Several areas were missed, and no rustproofing was applied to the backside of the fenders or bedwells. When I raised these concerns, the manager acknowledged the undercoating could be redone but stated that rustproofing those areas wasn’t part of their standard process. That response was disappointing—especially when a dealership has the opportunity to go above and beyond to delight a customer.
Ultimately, I had to take my truck to a specialized shop to have the protection properly applied. Based on my experience, the Zurich Shield package offered by Smail GMC seems more focused on upselling and maximizing profit than delivering quality workmanship or customer satisfaction.
I hope Smail GMC reconsiders how they implement and stand behind these packages. Customers deserve better.

Great experience, vehicle was serviced with no issues. My vehicle was taken care of with extreme care due to im very fussy and specifically asked for extra care and it was delivered. My salesman Bill in Cadillac set it up with his top tech

Very knowledgeable and personable sales staff. Processing of the deal was also excellent and all the details easily understood. Vehicles today have remarkable technology and Michael Bittner's very patient walkthrough of explaining how to use it all was thorough, and he was readily available days later for followup questions. Service department responded quickly to an alert reported on the app for the vehicle, and were also very thorough in explaining why I got the alert and what was done to resolve it.

At SMAIL GMC, I found the vehicle I was searching for and the Staff there treated me with the utmost respect and courtesy I was hoping for. My Salesman was Michael B. and he was awesome! He knew all the answers to the questions I needed to ask, some before I ever asked the question, which was impressive!
