Do not believe the reviews these guys are scam artists they're trying to charge me $1200 USD for a 5-10cm scratch. If you search online you'll see hundreds of similar posts plus an $11 million class action lawsuit for doing this exact same thing to other people . I even provided photos that I took prior to taking the vehicle that show the existing scratches on the bumper. This company is an absolute joke.

Had no issues. Luke was wonderful. Paid for extra exterior and interior coverage for the peace of mind. Topped off tank before returning. Love that you can pick up and drop off with the hotel valet, makes things simple. Confirmed vehicle had current tag registration based on some reviews. Took some pictures of fuel level before/after for proof if needed later, but no issues. Perfect first-time rental with SIXT. 10/29/25, 6:30am.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Sixt. I rented a car for only 24 hours and returned it exactly as I received it — clean, undamaged, and with almost full tank of gas, as i paid extra for them to refuel it at the end. As instructed, I returned the vehicle to the valet, which already seemed unusual since no Sixt representative was present. To be sure everything was in order, I even went inside the Sixt office afterward, where they confirmed that everything looked fine. I also provided photos of the odometer and gas gauge as requested.
A few days later, I received an email claiming there was a yellow scratch on the car — damage that was absolutely not there when I returned it. The scratch in their photo is large enough that it would have been clearly visible during drop-off. I have a spotless driving record and take great care of vehicles, so I know this damage did not occur during my rental period.
It’s unacceptable for Sixt to try to charge customers for damage that clearly happened after the car was returned, especially when the return process itself is so unclear and dependent on a valet rather than a Sixt employee. I hope Sixt reviews their procedures and resolves this issue fairly.

We recently visited Waikiki to get engaged and decided to rent a car through SIXT via the Amex Travel Portal to explore Oahu. Our quote was $101 total for a Mercedes CLA from Saturday to Sunday. Upon arrival, Andre was friendly and upgraded us to a BMW 440i Convertible at a discount since no CLAs were available; a great start to our trip.
However, when we returned to our hotel that evening (Hyatt Regency Waikiki), the valet refused the vehicle because the registration was expired. An officer on-site confirmed that if we were stopped, the ticket would fall on us, not the rental company. We had to self-park overnight and return the car the next morning.
Andre apologized and exchanged the vehicle for a Mustang Convertible, which also had visible scratches. The rest of the rental went fine, but when we got the final bill, we noticed extra charges; including a vehicle upgrade, refueling fee for the first car, and an additional surcharge that weren’t part of our agreement.
After such a special trip, this experience was both inconvenient and unexpectedly expensive. Unfortunately, we can’t recommend SIXT as a reliable rental option in Waikiki.

Expérience décevante – prélèvements injustifiés après la location J’ai loué un véhicule à l’agence de Honolulu pour une journée, au tarif clair de $143, payé par carte bancaire. L’accueil sur place a été professionnel. Une semaine plus tard, un prélèvement supplémentaire de $63.49 est apparu sur mon compte. Le manager de l’agence a reconnu l’erreur, ajusté le montant à $124.99 (petite remise) et m’a invité à photographier l’écran confirmant le remboursement et la remise. Après mon départ, j’ai reçu deux remboursements partiels ($20.81 et $42.93), suivis d’un nouveau débit de $63.49. Après plus de deux semaines d’échanges, le service client m’a indiqué que le remboursement était une erreur et le débit justifié, ils ont alors clos le dossier. Aucun recours possible car l’agence locale est injoignable. Je déconseille cette enseigne : même après un paiement complet, des montants peuvent être prélevés sans explications, et sans possibilité de contact avec l’agence concernée. Pour une seconde location, j’ai été facturé $219.33 au lieu des $143 annoncés (point résolu). PS premier véhicule : la porte conducteur ne s'ouvrait pas et le toit ne se fermait pas (rouler avec toit ouvert sur l'autoroute de nuit:-( Second véhicule, pas de car play. Sinon les véhicules sont sympas et l'équipes aussi. Après s'ils volent 60 dollars par location, ils peuvent avoir un beau parc :-)
