- PBPolly BehringerOct 22, 20251.0I don’t think the neighborhood or the elementary school was aware of the noise and air pollution the plant would be producing. The noise pollution often begins before the sun rises and all days of the week (even Sunday) the smell and haze in the air from the plant is causing not just environmental issues but health issues. You can smell it (and hear it) through the neighborhood. I live further than the elementary school and walking / playground park and it’s a strong mental smell that affects being outside. I can’t imagine the lasting effects this will have on the children in the school, the seniors that walk the park and any new families in the neighborhood. I think the focus was on traffic congestion initially taking away from the real effects of what this will do on the wellness of the community in the area. I wonder what how this will affect the resale value of homes from those wanting to leave the neighborhood because of this harmful pollution. Noise pollution is adversely affects the wellbeing of people. We’ve noticed the haze in the air as this business has ramped up its recycling. PIC: You can see how close the school is. The park is right next to it.
