Loved my staycation at Proper Hotel Santa Monica 🌿 Such a beautiful mix of modern design and a relaxing vibe — everything felt clean, fresh, and thoughtfully detailed. I especially loved all the gorgeous plants around the hotel! 🌱 It’s definitely on the pricier side (my King room was around $850), but totally worth it for the experience. The fitness center was amazing, and I even tried the sauna and Ammortal chamber — so refreshing! ✨ Can’t wait to come back again 💚

Truly incredible and immaculate hotel. It is next level, modern yet homely. Full of buzzing personality and vibes. The manager of the hotel was excellent when it came to us needing to discuss something. That’s what makes a great hotel in my opinion! The wellness and gym was out of this world. The best gym I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Fully equipped with incredible equipment. Bravo! Was a little loud though nightlife wise and we had our little boy so wouldnt mind really recommend it to families that sleep early.

I appreciate that this hotel is pet-friendly, but I think it’s important for management to also consider guests with pet allergies. Not everyone cleans their pets the same, and allergens can linger even after cleaning. It would be great if hotels offered designated pet-free or hypoallergenic rooms so guests with sensitivities can also enjoy their stay without discomfort. This would make the hotel more inclusive and comfortable for everyone. Also carpeting and rugs shouldn't be in rooms either Pets, they have dander in them and what if an animal urinated on it?!

I came in this evening on a quiet Sunday to grab a drink at the lobby bar with my boyfriend. However, my evening came to an end when I was harassed and followed by a man who claimed he was a manager named Jonathan. I later found out he was security on duty. The hotel was empty, except for a few people having drinks and one man lingering the hotel off the street, who eventually walked up to me and made me feel uncomfortable. Instead of the hotel, focusing on this random man, a blonde woman from the bar, walked up to me and said I could not take pictures where I was standing. I was off to a corner with no one in sight, she asked me to tell the reception that I was taking pictures and for them to give me permission. Before I could even walk over there. The security named Jonathan came at me very close to my face and demanded that I leave the property. I asked what I did because I’ve only been walking around the common area for a couple minutes and he said that I can’t take pictures. I let him know that on social media many people take pictures in this hotel and I don’t understand why I am being targeted. I’m not sure if this is a form of racism, but I want to write this review to let females know, especially younger women that the men in this hotel are extremely creepy, I felt like I was going to get touched at any moment. I left out the door which led me outside, and he continued to follow me walking very close to me. I ended up taking a picture of him and asked him what his name was. He refused to give me his name so I asked him to then call the police because I don’t see what I did wrong as A paying customer, only I didn’t even have a chance to sit in order a drink. I typically frequent the Waldorf, Beverly Hills, Hotel, and other high-end hotels where I like to have a drink and admire the beautiful surroundings. It’s unfortunate that it’s been five years since I stepped into this establishment and within seconds, I get harassed like this. I hope that management will see this and take the matter seriously. I will be writing reviews everywhere I can and posting on my social media where I have over 1 million followers. It’s amazing to me that being in a city full of influencers and people who do social media I walked in with my iPhone and tiny point-and-shoot camera and was treated as if I walked in with a big media crew full of professional cameras, lights, and microphones, this place really needs to lighten up and if it’s that big of a problem, maybe they should check their social media and reach out to everyone. Who’s ever posted a picture in there lobby and common area and get on them as well.
