The apartment itself is beautiful, but living here has been extremely frustrating. Shortly after moving in, I discovered a serious German roach problem. Management says they can only spray nine units per week, which means the issue never truly goes away. Residents are charged a $7 pest control fee, yet service is inconsistent … sometimes only once or twice a month and feels ineffective.. almost like they’re spraying water. The exterminator even asks ME where to spray, instead of thoroughly treating the unit. Out of desperation, I’ve spent my own money on sprays, gels, powders, and traps just to get some relief. The infestation has been overwhelming, even spreading to my car, which was humiliating and distressing. It has taken a toll on my mental health, and I often don’t even want to be at home.
While my efforts have helped temporarily, the roaches always come back, and the situation remains both frustrating and costly. This is more than just an inconvenience .. it’s a serious health concern, especially with young children in the home. I truly wish management would take this issue more seriously. EDIT TO ADD: I’m very disappointed with how poorly maintenance issues are handled here. The bathtub in our apartment was “refinished,” but the coating is now peeling badly and giving off a strong chemical smell. It’s so bad that we can’t even use the shower, which has made things extremely inconvenient..especially since we only have one other bathroom. I submitted a maintenance request, and someone came out saying we’d “hear from someone soon,” but it’s been almost a week with zero updates..no email, no call, nothing. It’s frustrating and unacceptable that something that affects our ability to bathe hasn’t been taken seriously or resolved. Residents deserve better communication and faster responses for issues that directly affect daily living.
