This is a very cute place in DuPont Circle. We first went there two years ago when it was newly opened. And came here again for lunch today. The service is amazing and the ambiance is very cozy. Here is what I've tried here: - Curry puffs - these are vegetarian and yummy. - Massaman Curry - the curry is absolutely delicious. The tofu was very dry. - Roti - my son got a side of roti and loved it. Can't wait to try the other dishes here. The food quality is very good and I highly recommend it.

certified foodie here and this place is an absolute gem. DC has a lot of spots with a lot of flair but Sampannee absolutely nails the favorites, making it a reliable spot every time I have a craving, in an environment that is both festive and comforting. The service is so wonderful and neighborly. This is my de facto Thai spot for dine in and take out.

Ordered the Pad Thai w/ shrimp and a Mango Sticky rice for takeout. Both were excellent and had the right amount of sweetness. The food was ready for pickup at the estimated time and the staff was friendly.

I absolutely love their food. Some of the best Thai in the city. Have had it in restaurant and delivered many times. Tonight my Uber driver stole my order from them. I called restaurant — they were super helpful and apologized and said they would remake the food and deliver. Then nothing — never delivered, never called, nothing. I tried calling the restaurant several times and no answer. Talk about crappy service. I’m done with them. Really disappointing.

Delicious food. Polite and attentive service. Homey, living room vibes. Trying Thai spots in different cities is one of my favorite things. My two rules are that it (1) must be run by Thai people and (2) can't feel commercial. Sampannee checked both boxes. I don't eat meat so I green curry with tofu and vegetables was recommended. So good. I also had curry puffs and the homemade flan. The strawberry margarita was the only miss, but it wasn't terrible. I'll come again next time I'm in the area.
