I treated at St. Theresa’s transitional unit for approximately one month. I have nothing but positive things to say about their physical therapy department. They were so kind and compassionate while helping me reach my goals. It was a great experience I recommend to anyone.
Special thanks to Sue, Mara and Sylvia amongst the great therapists. I hope St Theresa recognizes them for their professional work.

My grandmother stayed at Saint Therese of Woodbury in the TCU for about a month and a half, and overall, we had a very positive experience. The facility is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. The staff were kind, caring, and genuinely attentive to the residents' needs. You can tell many of them really care about the people they’re helping.
Were there a few hiccups along the way? Yes—but no place is perfect. Some things my grandmother didn’t initially bring up because she didn’t want to “bother” the staff. We reminded her that the staff aren’t mind readers and are more than happy to help if you just ask—whether that’s requesting a lunch swap or needing extra assistance.
One concern we ran into involved her diabetes management. For the first week, her blood sugar wasn’t being checked and she wasn’t getting insulin. We’re unsure if that was due to miscommunication between the hospital and Saint Therese, but once we found out, we raised the issue with the social worker. From that point on, her levels were checked daily and she received proper care. It was a frustrating situation, but once brought to their attention, it was resolved quickly.
Like any facility, you could tell some staff were more engaged than others, but overall, everyone was helpful and respectful. Occasionally her meals would arrive late or not as warm as expected, and a few days it seemed like they might’ve been short-staffed. That said, once we shared our concerns with leadership—regarding cold food and a static issue with her room phone—they were responsive and took care of everything promptly.
The physical therapists and nurses were especially fantastic. They played a huge role in her recovery, and we’re grateful for their support. Despite a few bumps in the road, we were happy with the care she received, and we’d recommend Saint Therese to others looking for a compassionate, clean, and supportive environment for their loved ones.
*******UPDATE (Aug 2025)*******
My grandma had to return to Transitional Care for a short two-week stay, and the experience was amazing. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. She didn't like her room so we asked if she could switch rooms, and the social worker kindly said yes once something opened up — a few days later, they made it happen.
She was so happy that the staff still remembered her (even though she had only been gone a few days — haha). She loved the food, especially the mac and cheese, and really enjoyed all the activities like bingo, volleyball-style exercises, and chatting with other residents.
She/we really enjoyed the staff. Everyone is so friendly, warm, and caring. Our first experience was great (a 4.7), but this time it was an easy 5 out of 5. Thank you again to the entire team at Saint Therese for making her feel so welcomed and cared for!

Such caring, kind and thoughtful angels at this facility. My parents have been here since 2016 and there’s no other place that we or they would rather be! Facility is appointed beautifully. The staff truly loves and cares for the residents . The parents have lived in all facets of the facility from independent living, assisted-living, and now into long-term care. Great staff, great facility and good management to work with!

Our family has had a positive experience with St. Therese of Woodbury. My Mom has resided in the independent living section of St. Therese for about 4 years. The staff is very friendly and responsive when a service request is made. During the last year my Dad was a resident in the long-term care unit. Again, the staff was courteous and extremely accommodating to his (and our family's) needs. They went above and beyond to help make communication with loved ones possible during the pandemic. My parents have been very happy with the care they have received at St. Therese of Woodbury and have been treated with the utmost respect. I would have no problem recommending St. Therese of Woodbury to someone who was looking for a senior living community.

How is memory care different than traditional long term care?
The first thing you’ll notice is the secured entry to Saint Therese memory care neighborhoods, encompassed outdoor spaces and that the safety of all our residents is top priority.
Just like within traditional long-term care, employees serve memory care neighborhoods 24/7 but the provided care is highly personalized and specialized—and that requires a few more helping hands. Saint Therese memory care employees receive ongoing training and education so each are prepared to appropriately respond to dementia-related symptoms like agitation, wandering or sundowning.
In addition, scheduled memory care activities and events are designed to engage, stimulate and socialize residents living with moderate to late-stage dementia.
How do I know if my loved one needs memory care?
As we age, we become more forgetful. Mild change is a normal part of the aging process. When memory loss is not manageable by making simple concessions like forming lists, keeping a calendar or retracing steps, there may be cause for concern.
If you notice a loved one’s well-being is potentially in jeopardy—unpaid bills piling up, he or she gets lost behind the wheel or you’ve considered unhooking the stove —give us a call.
When my loved one resides in your secured memory care neighborhood, can I pick them up for a day trip or off site family event?
Absolutely. A residency at Saint Therese is designed to ensure you have more opportunities to socialize and connect with your loved one. Whereas there are some reasonable guidelines we ask family members to consider, we encourage loved ones to remain an active source of support and in our residents’ lives.
I am caring for my loved one at home. Do you offer caregivers any resources?
We’re here for you. We have a number of resources you can benefit from. Saint Therese has support groups as well as a robust pastoral care program available to you for free.
If you’re considering senior living as the next chapter, our respite care is offered in our residences for up to four weeks. This short-term stay supports caregiver vacations, assists in transitions to a new lifestyle as a member of a Saint Therese community, and acts as a perfect “trial run” to ensure Saint Therese senior living is the best next step.
What kind of innovative dementia / memory care programs do you offer?
Can my loved one choose an apartments now and then later move into the secured memory care neighborhood when their dementia progresses?
Yes. That’s exactly why Saint Therese offers a continuum of care. Saint Therese has memory care for seniors who prefer a private apartment setting. Those living with early to moderate-stages of dementia find apartment living provides freedom to do more every day in a worry-free setting.
Care center neighborhoods provide individuals with moderate to late-stage dementia the benefit of comfortable living space tailored to meet every day needs. When accompanied by compassionate 24/7 care, our residents are empowered to engage in activities designed to enhance well-being and their families benefit from knowing their loved one is thriving in a secured environment.
