My experience with Safelite in Elko could not have been worse. On May 23rd made an appointment online to replace the driver side front window on my 2025 4Runner on 6/6/25. Two days before my appointment i got an email saying they had to order the window from Toyota (because it's a new vehicle), and expected it to be about 7 days out. They would get a hold of me to reschedule when the part arrived. After hearing nothing, I emailed them back on June 14 and June 18th and they did not respond. Went into the store the following week and was told the part still isn't showing up as shipped from Toyota, they would have the person that does the ordering call me to give me a better estimate on when they expected the part to be in. (Waited a few more weeks and nobody called). I called my Toyota dealership to see if they could replace the window, they said they couldn't do it, but they could order me the window and get it into Elko the next day. They did that for me and I picked up the new window On July 7th and called Safelite to schedule an install. After pulling up my work order they saw they still couldn't get my part yet, but they said they wouldn't do an install on a window I bought. They said they would see if they could make an exception in this case and would call me back. (Waited a few more weeks, they didn't call). In the end, two months after scheduling that first appointment, I put the new window in myself (July 20th). I can understand this was not a straightforward windshield job on an easy to source windshield, I know Safelite, being a national company with their own national supply chain, might have had more difficulty getting the window than I did, but the lack of communication and difficulty in getting any sort of help or a response was extremely disappointing. I loved Elko Glass (the company they bought out) but I don't see myself returning here in the future.
