We were really excited to spend three days at our hometown marina, but our experience at Safe Harbor Plymouth was very disappointing.
Although our reservation had been accepted, upon arrival we quickly realized there was no slip for us. We were initially asked to tie up at the restaurant dock, which turned into a constant hassle. Each time we went out fishing or to Browns Bank and returned—even during business hours—there were no spots available. I had to repeatedly call the office so dockhands could shuffle boats around just to fit us back in.
After hours, the situation was even worse. The restaurant dock was crowded with diners, and my wife had the unpleasant experience of dealing with a very drunk, belligerent individual on the dock. We later learned that the restaurant freely hands out the gate code, with no verification of whether people even have boats there—so much for security.
On our last night, a dockhand finally managed to place us in a proper slip, which was a relief. However, the frustration continued when we noticed that throughout our stay a single boat, SeeBee, was permanently parked at the restaurant dock. I was told by a dockhand that they were “former members who just hang out there,” and later by friends and fellow members that they’re essentially freeloaders since they lost their rack. When I raised the issue through Dockwa, the responses felt dismissive, and eventually the explanation shifted to saying the boat reserves every weekend through Dockwa—though our stay was mid-week, which doesn’t add up.
Finally, when I inquired about the open slip we enjoyed on our last night, the answer I got was simply “not available.” Instead of being directed toward a waitlist or application process, as you’d expect from a marina with strong customer service, the conversation was shut down.
Considering Safe Harbor’s great reputation nationally, I feel they should be made aware of the extremely poor customer service and questionable practices at their Plymouth location. It was not the level of professionalism or hospitality we expected, and it left us very disappointed.

Watching history being honored and replayed by several people, marching bands, soldiers firing Canons , the ship replica of the the Mayfair, all the pom and circumstance, I was utterly in awe of everyone and everything , the horses, the marines, the antique cars . Had a beautiful time, got very emotional at times , I am so proud of everyone and of our history. God Bless America 🙏❤
