  Too noisy. Server was great!! The hostess was very pushy leading us to a table outside by the noisy singer and bar after we told her 3 times we didn’t want to sit out there. Finally she relented and seated us inside, but it was still extremely noisy. Not a restaurant for a family with kids to dine in. Seafood was ok. Don’t care to go back as it’s not worth the money.

  Everything was good overall. The only thing I didn’t enjoy were the crab cakes; they were filled with wayyyy too many huge chunks of raw celery. It was actually pretty gross. We also ordered the crab dip and calamari, which were absolutely delicious. I love crab cakes, and am from the North East states where was take crab cakes pretty seriously, and was just extremely disappointed with the celery in there. If they removed the celery from the crab cakes they would be a 10/10.

  We are local and decided to bring a group of 8 of our out of town friends and family. The service was really bad. They passed our food and dumped the entire basket. Then, didn’t offer to get another even after I mentioned it to my waiter Brenden. We were so disappointed in the overall service. The food was just ok. By the time they remembered the sauce for one of the burgers, it was 100% cold. They didn’t clear any dirty dishes and the managers response was “sorry’.

  It is in a great location, but please review the details on your bill carefully. They add a parking and entertainment fee, while advertising free parking. The service is slow, and the food is below average. Cleanliness is poor. The Hype and visit were so disappointing. I would not recommend this place. Keep googling... We fell for this place due to its location and being new to Panama City Beach. PARKING IS NOT FREE EVEN IF YOU WALK THERE! Not honest. Also, there was no entertainment. We were a party of 3, but on the check it was a party of 6. How can you make that mistake?

  ⭐ ★ ★ ★ ☆ 3.5 / 5 We dined at Runaway Island recently. Overall, the experience was okay — not bad, but not outstanding either. What worked well: • The bar staff were friendly and attentive. They checked in, refilled drinks, and made us feel welcome. • The vibe / atmosphere is pleasant enough — beachside setting, casual, decent for a tourist area. • The seafood menu (typical for beachfront spots) had familiar items, so expectations were modest and mostly met. What fell short: • They messed up our order (wrong items arrived), which we sent back. Asked for a side of old bay which they charged me for, but never arrived. Didn’t complain but factored that in. • The food was average — nothing terrible, but nothing that stood out either. You get the usual tourist-area seafood fare. • The “vibe was ok” — not bad, but not memorable either. Would I go back? Possibly — especially if I’m in the area and feeling like something casual and convenient. But I’d also explore other nearby restaurants first.
