If this is the worst BBQ in Texas, then I’ll gladly eat terrible food every day. Saves me the gas money to Driftwood.

I was really looking forward to trying the chicken and baked potato at Rudy’s , but the chicken had a terrible odor and the baked potato was brown from the inside 🤢 We threw our food away. Before leaving the restaurant I informed the cashier, she called her co-workers through a walkie talkie but they did not pay attention.

From out of town and found this place driving back to my hotel from Lake Travis. What a find! Great brisket sandwich, cool atmosphere and great service. Definitely worth checking out!

Wife and I have been coming to Rudy's ever since we moved to Austin. In my opinion it's staple because you get quality food and great customer service every time. The best part for me is it's not an 1 hour + wait to get good barbecue. You may say other spots have better barbecue but you won't get a greeting at the door when you walk in. I personally like the baby back ribs and pulled Pork for dinner and of course you can't go wrong with the breakfast tacos. On a side note they do offer EV charging in their parking lot, and I have a gripe to pick about it. I have an EV and thinks it's great to be able to charge when eating breakfast or dinner. However, there are residents that live at Ellwood Apartments behind Rudy's and drop their car off and walk back. I've seen others be dropped off after they left it overnight. That ruins it for actual paying customers that buy food and hope to charge for 30min to an hour. My ask to Rudy's is to post a 2hr time limit and turn off the charging stations overnight. Additionally it would be great to have the 4 charging cables labeled along with the spots so people don't use the wrong charger and prevent others from charging. To the charging bandits that leave their cars, it's free to charge because they expect you to come inside and enjoy great Bar-B-Q!!
