Stopped in for lunch and drinks, everything was fantastic. John M was my server and he did outstanding. Really made everything 10 times better. He was knowledgeable about the menu and just really on top of making sure every step of service was met and made it such an enjoyable experience

Disappointing. The people and the atmosphere is great. The food was underwhelming. I will say that the tacos were good but other food was almost unendable. The chili relleno was just a glorified mozzarella stick. The enchilada sauce that came with it was marinara. The house salsa is bland and just taste like bland tomatoes. The other two salsas were actually pretty good and would recommend. The hot sauce is disappointing. One was just sweet and the other was just spicy. No real flavors. The margarita itself was just pretty much a tequila with barely any lime flavor. Very strong. We also got a both side of beans. The refried were pretty good but the black beans were uncooked and hard. All around I will not be coming back because the food was just not worth it. I hope they get a new cook because this restaurant has a lot of potential.

Rocco tacos was one of my favorite places to visit. But I notice a significant downfall in the restaurant. The salsa taste like it was out of a can no flavor whatsoever. I ordered a Mojito and I don’t know what they serve me, but it was not a Mojito, it was is terrible. I returned it for a white claw. I ordered the crispy fish tacos, and I got one little piece of fish in it and it tasted sour. The only thing I did enjoy was the guacamole and the chips. Although it seems, they’re serving of guacamole dip with a lot less. Very disappointed. I’ll give it one more shot, but if the next time I go there, it’s anything like this I will be canceling Rocco tacos.!

Drinks phenomenal! BUT and there is a huge one! Where do I begin, honestly let’s start w some context, I’m from central Florida (22yrs) & have lived in manatee county for 10+ yrs. I have traveled to a multitude of “yt” culture areas, ie. (south/North Carolina, New York, etc. aka “northern” states). Sarasota is IN Florida one of the MOST southern/multi cultural states there is. This restaurant is WAYYYYY too close to central & south Florida to have the most DISGUSTING “taco” type food I’ve EVER tasted! the ppl keeping this place in business should be ashamed of themselves; the tortillas, cold. Shrimp in the shrimp tacos, cold. Steak tacos, bad aftertaste (bc my man loves food) literally tasted like 4-5 day old meat (I tasted also). I had the birria tacos which were okay but the corn tortilla was hard as a rock, and as a Mexican girly who does NOT like corn tortillas but still eats them, I was HIGHLY disappointed in this restaurant especially bc 3 very small street tacos were $22 without rice and beans or chips and salsa. What aggravated me even more is when I explained all this (above) to the manager he seemed distant and had ZERO interest in paying attention to what I was saying, (kept looking away as I was speaking), waiting for me to “shut up” and say he was going to comp the meal, I guess, idk. Also, he said they deliver fresh meat daily… okay what do they do with the leftovers… didn’t get that far in the convo. NOBODY SHOULD EVER HAVE TO EAT RAW FLOWER TORTILLAS OR HARD CORN TORTILLAS!!!!!! HOWEVER! Service was amazing they do have amazing servers! AND bartenders!!! Drinks were the ONLY thing worth having there. I don’t comment this lightly, as I NEVER review ANYTHING but this is needed. Ppl going there should know better & if you don’t you should be ashamed of yourself. $70 in drinks and still comped our food, not worth it, don’t go, restaurant need to do better in such high populated area. Also, I was apparently so disgusted I left my to go barria tacos in the box on the table 🤦‍♀️. $22 for 3 barely there tacos was NOT it, zero flavor. This was my FIRST time at this restaurant & my experience, if you go I hope you have better luck! Pls consider this before going, thx for reading.
