Beware of extreme markup on parts. Purchased an OEM part from this business for $164. I thought the price was high but was already there and made the purchase. Went back home and researched same OEM part from other vendors with the going price of about $90.
I politely contacted Mr. Tribble, Director of Operations, who quickly replied and refused to refund or properly justify the excess markup, stating "Regarding your request for a refund of the price difference: I do understand your position, but I want to reiterate that all electrical parts are final sale, and that includes pricing. Our pricing reflects not only the cost of parts but also the overhead of maintaining local inventory, providing a in-person service, and supporting customers directly—something that online retailers don’t offer. We stand by our pricing and store policies, and I assure you there was no mistake or intent to overcharge. We do our best to be fair and competitive while also running a sustainable, locally owned business."
Interestingly enough, while I was there for another part (a small screw for the throttle cable) was quoted to me to be $19! Then the sales guy said he found it cheaper for around $2. I was left with the impression that they mark their items really high just to see if the customer will push back. My fault for not doing so in person. I was actually looking at purchasing a newer cart and was to return this coming week to make the purchase. Mr. Tribble had the opportunity to make this right and earn future business but chose a different path that left me no choice to no longer consider River City Golf Carts as an option for service, sales, or parts.

We had such a great experience buying our golf cart from River City Golf . From the moment we walked in, Cole made us feel welcome—no pressure, no sales gimmicks—just honest, helpful guidance. They really took the time to walk us through all the different options, explain the features of each cart, and answer every question we had (and we had a lot!).
What really stood out was how patient and knowledgeable they were. They never rushed us, and you could tell they genuinely cared about helping us find the right cart for our needs—not just making a sale. The entire process was smooth and stress-free, which is rare these days. We even got to test drive a few models, which helped a lot with the decision.
Highly recommend River City Carts if you’re thinking about buying a golf cart. They’re knowledgeable, honest, and just all-around good people. Couldn’t be happier with our purchase!

Frequently Asked Questions About River City Golf Carts
What brands do you offer?
We provide a diverse selection of golf cart brands, including Club Car, MadJax X Series, Star, and Yamaha.
What are the differences with Gas vs electric golf carts?
Gas golf carts excel in long-distance travel, rough terrain navigation, and heavy-duty applications due to their higher torque and extended range. However, they are noisier, require more upkeep, and produce emissions. Electric golf carts, on the other hand, operate quietly, produce zero emissions, and have lower maintenance costs, making them ideal for residential areas and golf courses. Their drawbacks include shorter range and longer recharge times. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize power and endurance (gas) or quiet, low-cost convenience (electric).
What kind of gas should I put in my golf cart?
While regular unleaded gasoline is suitable for gas golf carts, ethanol-free gasoline is recommended to minimize build-up. For professional maintenance, we encourage you to contact River City to schedule an appointment.
How long should a golf cart last on a full charge?
Golf carts equipped with deep cycle batteries typically require 8-10 hours for a full charge, which is usually done overnight for use the following day. For specific information about your golf cart's charging needs, please contact River City to schedule an appointment.
Should I purchase a gas or electric golf cart?
The choice between gas and electric golf carts depends on your specific needs. Gas carts are preferable for long distances, challenging terrain, or heavy-duty use due to their power and quick refueling capabilities. Electric carts are more suitable for use in neighborhoods, golf courses, or short trips with readily available charging options, offering quieter operation, zero emissions, and lower maintenance costs. Your decision should be based on your intended usage patterns and driving locations.
How do I maintain my golf cart?
Annual maintenance is recommended to ensure optimal performance of your golf cart. We advise scheduling an appointment with River City for professional maintenance services.
How much will a golf cart cost?
The cost of a golf cart can vary significantly between new and used models. New golf carts typically range from $6,000 to $15,000, while used carts can be priced anywhere from $2,000 to $8,000.
