These statues are poignant reminders of the difficult conditions we’re willing to enter into to help those in need

Deeply meaningful spot on the Mormon Pioneer trail. Be sure to read the story of the Martin Handcart Company before you go, and then make the 5 mile hike into the cove where the people found some protection from the winter storms for about 6 days, and where up to 50 people died. Highly recommend fording the sweetwater river on your way and learning the story of the young men who carried the whole company across the freezing river in the snow.

Great historic site with a story of trial, tragedy and triumph of mankind. This is a must see site for anyone interested in the history of America and pioneer heritage. Also a great experience us to be had with a taste of handcart travel. Tganks to all the volunteers who make this possible.

This is such an interesting historic site. I enjoyed the museums and the trek on pioneer trails. The tour guides were so sweet and attentive.
