I’ve been here twice since it opened, and both times were awful. How are you a steakhouse that’s out of steak? Every visit, the servers go down a list of what they don’t have, and it’s usually half the menu. The place is always empty, yet somehow they’re still out of everything. How do you run out of food when there isn’t a single customer in the building? Obviously, this is a management issue.
It’s clear they’re trying to use the “Remington’s” name to draw people in, but it’s nothing like what you’d expect from a place with that name. The servers are the only good part of the experience. They’re always kind, professional, and doing their best, but they look completely stressed and overworked every time I’ve been in. It’s honestly sad to see because it’s not their fault; they’re just trying to make the best out of a bad situation.
From what I’ve seen and heard, the owner is cutting corners just to keep the place open, and it really shows. There’s no bread service, a two-dollar upcharge for salads, and the food quality is nowhere near what it should be. The restaurant tries to act like a fine dining spot, but it feels more like a cheap, casual place pretending to be something it’s not. The atmosphere is off, the menu is constantly limited, and everything about the operation feels unorganized and rushed.
It’s also frustrating to see how much potential the place had when it first opened. We used to come by hoping it would improve or that it might turn into something worth visiting, but it just keeps going downhill.
This place is a perfect example of bad management ruining what could have been a good restaurant. It’s cheap, inconsistent, and poorly run from the top down. I don’t see it lasting long if things stay the same. The staff deserve better, and the customers definitely deserve better. Terrible establishment, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Update:
Just to clarify, I’m not a former employee — I’m a customer who had two bad experiences here. Several others from our group have also written reviews and sent emails about the same issues. People talk, and it’s clear better management is needed. The manager’s response only proves my point.

This is NOT the Remington's you remember. I used to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Remington's when it was open on Bearss and in Wesley Chapel. It was always such a great experience, not just a meal. When I saw it had re-opened on Bearss Ave., I circled the date of my birthday and was so excited to celebrate my special day with a return to one of my old favorite restaurants.
Well, we arrived to see only about four cars in the parking lot. It looked open, so where was everyone? Well, there was only one other customer in the restaurant at 6 PM on a weekend. This should have been our first sign to turn around and walk out. But we stayed. Ugh.
We sat down and looked at the menu, and noticed at the top of the Appetizers: "Bread Service" "5 pieces" "$6.95" Wait, WHAT? One of the best things about the Remington's of the past was it's delicious bread. And now it costs over a dollar per piece? It is not included with a meal at a steakhouse that charges $25 and up for a steak? Wow, cheap move. There were seven in our party, so we had to spend $14 just to have bread for the table? That was basically when I decided that we had not made a good choice.
Our server came over and started to take my order. The words had just left my mouth when she asked, "Didn't anyone tell you about the items we don't have?" Um, no. "Well, we are out of this entree, and this size filet, and this size strip, and this, and this, and this... We had a party of 36 yesterday." Come on. This restaurant is EMPTY, save for our group of seven, and a group of 36 cleaned you out yesterday? Who is managing the supply?
Ok, so I quickly changed my order to include an available entree with two sides. "Caesar salad, and..." "Oh, that is a $2 upcharge. Is that OK?" Maybe it should be printed on the menu since it is included among a list of other side options. Which others have a hidden surcharge? Who knows. Any what is making my Caesar salad cost two dollars more than any other side? It is a bowl of lettuce with dressing.
Out of a party of seven, six ordered something from the sandwich menu. It seemed like the safest choice. French fries were actually available, and included no hidden fees. I did find it unusual that a steak and seafood restaurant served food in paper-lined baskets instead of on plates. The effect didn't convey a nice restaurant which took itself seriously.
We all basically enjoyed our food, although nothing was particularly exciting or memorable. When it was time to leave, our server offered to-go refills on our drinks. They were served to us in small Styrofoam coffee cups. It was kind of like getting a cup of coffee in a hospital waiting room. Do you fulfill true To-Go orders by giving customers coffee cups of soda? I mean, a soda costs $3.65 at this place.
On our way home, we all talked about what a disappointing experience. We remember the Remington's of old. There was agreement: the meal was fine, but nothing any of us would come back for. We didn't like the upcharges, some of which were hidden. It was strange to be the only occupied table in the entire venue. The food was serviceable but unremarkable. The experience was just kind of gloomy.
As we drove home, I wished we had not taken a chance on an unproven restaurant for a birthday celebration. One member of our group said, "Let's do a retry next week, but at a different place." Sage advice. We definitely will not waste another special occasion at Remington's.
EPILOGUE: At least two of our group reported, ahem, "tummy trouble" later in the evening. What a special parting gift!

Went back for a birthday party. Somewhat disappointed
Most of our food was decent. No one I mean no one there at 6 on a Sunday night. Felt like I should have walked out. Kind of an uncomfortable feeling like why is no one here. Definitely not worth the 140.00 we spend for the meal. Sorry we won't be back

Went in for lunch after church on Sunday. For such good food they were surprisingly empty.
The French Onion Soup was excellent. The broth was full bodied, I could taste the beef without it being overshadowed by the onions. The onions were there and cooked well. It was one of the best French Onion Soups I've had in a long time and the broth is what made it so good. My only compliant is that the crock was only about half full when served.
I had an appetizer for my main course, the Shepard's Pie Quesadilla. I had planned to have a steak, but the idea of a Shepard's Pie Quesadilla was just too intreating. I made the right choice. I still could taste the beef in each of the 4 pieces of the quesadilla. The veggies were there but not overpowering, however I still could taste the mashed potatoes in each bite. I tried the dipping sauce but preferred it without the sauce. Since the quesadilla was so good next time I'm going to try the full Shepard's Pie

Great steakhouse for locals and those passing through. Not many of these left in a world of large chain casual dining steakhouses. The onion soup was spot on flavorful. The ribeye perfectly cooked with a nice grilled charr outside and tender inside, all while being lightly seasoned to perfection. No baked potato this evening as they were all out, but the mushrooms were nice. The salad a standard house salad with standard dressings. The service pleasant and attentive.
