Just came in here in my walker to buy the only sunscreen that stops my hypersensitive sun allergy and Christian who I believe was the manager seemed disinterested in helping me. Another worker who was a young man was super kind and helped me locate the exact product I needed which was super helpful. I’ve recently lost a lot of health ability so it feels hard been in an active store but it’s the only place I can get what I need in person. At checkout, Christian was almost angry we weren’t interested in the $30 membership. I’m sure other people get great benefits out of this but I’m limping around with my mobility aides buying a $20 sunscreen. I don’t need a membership to get 10% off a bunch of stuff I can’t use. I don’t know if it’s a him problem or the company is being so aggressive about this he feels he has to be the same way but this isn’t the way to get members, much less repeat customers.

“A Life-Changing Shoe and a First-Class Store Experience” My husband and I recently visited REI for the first time, and we couldn’t be happier. We were both in need of new shoes and had read great things about the Brooks Glycerin Max 22. We found out that REI had them in stock, so we decided to go in and try them on — and I’m so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the store was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate — even for two people who had never been in any REI location before. We headed to the back where the shoes were displayed, and within 30 seconds, a kind and professional employee approached us. I explained that we were looking for the Glycerin Max 22 in women’s size 8 and men’s 11.5. She knew exactly where they were and also brought out the Ghost Max for comparison. She was incredibly helpful — attentive without being pushy — and checked in on us multiple times. When she stepped away for a break, another employee (an older gentleman) came by and made sure we had everything we needed. The customer service was outstanding. We never had to track anyone down, but we never felt pressured either — just supported and respected. Because I needed to use a particular payment method, I purchased the shoes online while in-store and selected in-store pickup, which was fast, simple, and hassle-free. As for the shoes themselves: I’ve struggled with knee, leg, and back pain since major surgeries in 2018. I was introduced to Brooks by the Good Feet Store when I was fitted for orthotic inserts, and I’ve worn their shoes ever since. This was my first time trying the Glycerin Max 22, and it exceeded my expectations — it feels like walking on a cloud. I couldn’t be happier. My husband had never tried Brooks before, but after a year and a half of hip and joint issues, I strongly encouraged him to give them a try. His main concern was that he always needs wide-width (2E) shoes, and the Glycerin Max doesn’t come in a wide option. However, after reading on Brooks’ site and customer reviews that this model runs roomy, we decided to take the chance and try the standard width in store. To our happy surprise, the standard width fit him perfectly — in fact, it was the first time in his life that a standard-width shoe worked for him. He immediately noticed the comfort and support. We both walked out with the Glycerin Max 22 and have been thrilled with them ever since. We purchased lighter color pairs to go with our current outfits, but we’re already planning to buy additional darker pairs soon for other occasions. Some colors were out of stock at REI, so we’ll be ordering online either from REI or directly from Brooks.com. I’m incredibly grateful to the staff at REI for their patience and knowledge, and to the woman at the Good Feet Store who first introduced me to Brooks. While I know other brands may be great for some people, nothing has come close to the comfort and performance I’ve found with Brooks shoes — especially for people with pain, joint issues, or mobility concerns. If you’re struggling with walking, alignment, or chronic discomfort, I highly recommend trying Brooks — and REI is a wonderful place to experience them.

I took my bike to Cadency Cyclery and they said my road bike rim couldn't be fixed. Jacob, at the REI bike shop, looked at it and said with confidence that it could be done. He was right and has become my new bike guy! Every experience here with the rest of the crew has been very pleasant. They have a knowledgeable and competent staff. You feel like you're talking to people who actually use the products they're selling.
