  Went in super excited to buy a bike. The first person who helped me was friendly and patient. But the second person who came over, an older gentleman, made me feel like I was bothering him just by asking questions. It seemed as me wanting to test ride the bike was a hassle for him. His energy was off and I didn’t even feel comfortable asking for help after that. I genuinely felt awful after my interaction with him. He only started to change his tone when he was trying to get me to sign up to be a member. It kind of seemed like most people working there weren’t too happy which definitely changes the vibe when you walk in. I’ll still go back because I love REI’s selection but I really hope the team can bring a little more warmth and enthusiasm to how they connect with customers.

  Most of the products are higher quality and thus the price tags reflects it. This last time I went, the customer service was beyond expectation. Both the conversation and guidance was very helpful in my journey to buying the product. I will definitely be a returning customer.

  I've frequented this location in the past, and every visit was excellent. Friendly employees and good customer service. I like the layout of the store, too. I've been to the Vernon Hills location, but that location felt unorganized. I didn't get the same level of customer service either. The northbrook location is the best!
