  Sales people who drop everything to help? Who are knowledgeable, willing to look for what you want, share their honest assessment of the products based on their own experiences and are genuinely sad when they don't have what you are looking for. I had forgotten what a really human pleasure it is to shop at REI. And I get a percentage back?

  We were on vacation and wanted to get new backpacks and hiking boots. We got very helpful advice from both departments, and our cashier took our shoe boxes to recycle, since we don't have a way to do so, out here. Very good experience for us!

  Beware: very little parking. Couldn’t find a parking spot so we could go inside… awful location. Did see the Public parking lot around the corner (not sure if you had to pay) but we had our overland trailer and couldn’t fit.

  I stopped going there for a while and forgot why but today I decided to go and was quickly reminded why I stopped going. I basically stood at the register with my dik in my hands as people passed me while I stood like an idiot at the register. Back to online shopping.

  It was hard to get a staff person to help me. No free parking (but $1 for the first hour in the garage below). Allowed for a full refund with the return of my item. Expensive gear.
