Since moving to Texas, I’ve come to terms with the fact that people generally aren’t as friendly or cozy as they are in the Midwest. But today I got to experience midwestern quality hospitality and a warm welcome from the amazing staff at this location. I’ve been to two other REI locations and the experience was exactly on par, not phenomenal but they got the job done. But this location surprised me in the best way. Katy primarily helped me with shoes, she was excellent. She shared her real world experience to help me make a decision and pick the best product for me. There was another staff member in the footwear department whose name I didn’t catch but she was *very* knowledgeable and helpful. Joseph helped me at the checkout and even though the online system was not working properly, he did everything he could to try and help. All of the staff were excellent and went above and beyond, will definitely make this location my go to outdoors store. I signed up for the membership (which I said I’d never do) purely because I know I will return here for all of my outdoor shopping.

Staff having a hard time navigating their check out/customer service kiosks. And staff also venting about their frustration about customers - in front of the customers. I guess there’s a reason online shopping is eating all these stores
