  This is the worst REI I have been to. Had a flat repaired only for it to go flat 5 minutes later because they didn’t close the valve. I was on my way to check out a bike trailer and an employee snatched the 20% discount tag off of it, and I had to ask management to honor it. Bike staff is super unhelpful/unknowledgeable. The Sports Basement on Kern is amazing by comparison - super helpful staff and way better prices.

  This store definitely has some deep issues with minorities! I have been shopping at this store for years because it's close to home, and it hasn't been pleasant: the staff is unhelpful and the cashiers are rude with cold faces. Today, I was there for a pickup as the store was about to close. I was fully aware of the time and told the staff we were about to leave and just needed to take a peek in the shoe section. A male staff member came over and kept reminding us that we needed to leave. I kept telling him we were just about to head out. I was truly offended when I saw that there were other customers still shopping. We are two Asian women who just wanted some space, but we were harassed instead. We would leave peacefully if he steps back. I will never shop at this store again!

  Steep decline in service from a long-time customer. The wait times are absurd and the current team of cashiers are incredibly rude, hostile, and impatient. It's clear that customer service is not a priority here anymore. Management needs to seriously re-evaluate their staffing and training.

  The Mgr Tyler at the Sunnyvale location is a bonafide asset to the Rei Industry. Tyler went over & beyond exuding superior customer service. His stellar service & energy was spot on. It has me spreading the word about Rei. If youre an outdoor enthusiast, this must be your new & only 1stop shop! Thank you Tyler, & thank you REI for hiring such an amazing MGR!!
