  The staff was amazing — I got a great Cannondale bike and couldn’t be happier! Danny did an excellent job showing me how everything works. This is a fantastic place to buy a bicycle — I’d 100% recommend anyone to shop here. They even offer free tune-ups after your first few rides, have a great return policy, and their mechanics really know their stuff.

  Terrible experience with staff. I love REI, have been going for years and am generally so satisfied with my in-store experiences. I returned a tent that I had bought 2 days prior to returning. I was pretty straight forward about having set it up to try it out for a few hours and realizing it was too small. It was in like new condition and had all pieces and was in original packaging. The staff had to consult with another staff member about returning it. I’ve never seen this before and as a member I’m aware of the 365 day return policy. They were asking a lot of questions about the situation and I felt really uncomfortable and shocked that I was having a hard time with this basic return for a $117 tent. After all that they didn’t credit the full amount of the purchase onto my card and I had to call customer service to get the remaining on a gift card. I’ve gone to REIs all over the country. This is the least friendly and most unprofessional one I’ve experienced.

  I have been to the store many times and always found the products to be of good quality and the staff friendly and helpful. I would like to thank Daniel who assembled the bike I purchased, took the time to answer all of my questions and made some helpful recommendations.

  If REI is wondering about falling sales, they should talk to their employees about how to treat people, maybe we don't all fit the look that they think fits their profile. But some of us who have bicycled in Mexico been all over the USA traveled Europe hiked in a lot of places. Biked camped kayak canoed sailed we don't all look like some West Palm Beach person, but we know what we are looking for and to just get fobbed off because we're looking for specific kind of shoe with no effort even made to point me to the REI website, sorry as much as I hate Amazon might as well go there. I have shopped REI from when they were just a couple of stores and watched them grow over the years but now I've noticed the slow downwood trend of them just turning into basically a big box sports store. It makes me sad and eventually they will just be one of those big specialty retailers that looks just like all the rest when they put up the going out of business signs. It really saddens me to leave this review, Andy.
