  Just passing through Fairbanks while on vacation. Small REI but big hearts of the employees here. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful and were able to help troubleshoot some cold weather gear. Thanks so much!

  I stopped by to purchase a new pair of hiking shoes. Luis offered assistance and asked what types of shoes I was looking for. He suggested a pair of Altra hiking boots that’s on clearance. He couldn’t find my size and let me try on a pair that’s a half size bigger. They were a bit big so he found another style that is also on sale and it was in my size. He’s very helpful and attentive to my needs. I was carrying the shoe box while shopping and he offered to leave the box at the checkout counter so I don’t have to carry it around. Thanks Luis for an awesome customer service!

  Love this place, picked up two cans of bear spray for a run into Denali, was joking about returning them, staff actually told me I could in fact return them. My jaw hit the floor. THANKS AGAIN LOVE LOVE LOVE REI
