I felt so pressured to get a membership by the lady checking me out. I will not be back.

REI has become increasingly worse over the years. For some bizarre reason, many of their online products are not available for in store shipping. This would be fine were delivery services not an absolute nightmare. Since my house has no security and is very public, there is a 0% chance I will have anything shipped to my house worth hundreds of dollars. This online restriction is bizarre especially for members who have already dropped thousands of dollars with this company, why cant I pick it up in store?
I tried to spend over $1000 on a new backpack and tent from REI for an upcoming trip, and either it wont let me and forces home shipping, or the products listed are "unavailable" without explanation despite being listed on the website. Im over it and will just buy directly from the manufacturers themselves from now on, and as soon as my credit card with REI is paid Im canceling it and no longer giving them my money.

This REI is nice. Clean, stocked, super helpful Associates. It's on the higher side of pricing. But for the things I needed it wasn't bad. Darn Tough socks, a hat that works, wind pants and Aqua Mira (chlorine dioxide). However, when I asked if they had 100% cotton tee shirts. The Associate looked skyward and shocked. "Ummm....No....but we have tee shirts". It was kinda arrogant, as if he was the God of Hiking. I don't like plastic clothes.
