I paid to be a member of REI. I went to exchange a pair of boots that the I hook for the laces ripped out. The lady at the counter was very rude and threw the receipt at me for no reason. She told me that my exchange was put in and I would be getting the boots in the mail. I later found out that she put the money on a gift card and never ordered my boots. Need us to say the customer service was horrible and the attitude was just worse.. I’m never shopping here again. I’d rather go to L.L. Bean where they treat you kindly.

I needed the derailleurs adjusted on my bike. I called and spoke with Sarah in the bike shop. She told me to bring it right in and they would check it out. They took my bike right in and called me about 20 minutes later telling me what the issues were and what needs to be done, including what it would cost. I approved the work and they called another 30 minutes later telling me it was ready for pickup. They are very professional, upfront with the costs, and being friendly really is nice nowadays. Sarah and here team get 5 well deserved stars!

Nice experience - Great customer service (Jeannine) Had an incredible experience here over the weekend. We have a trip to Europe planned in Sept so stopped into REI to simply browse. Was super impressed to see each area having a Subject Matter Expert, witnessed an employee know everything about backpacks to help a customer. We weren't planning on buying shoes but wanted to see what Waterproof options they had for my weird feet and met Jeannine who was phenomenal and so knowledgeable. She was clearly passionate about the outdoors and helping people came naturally. She also shared the benefits of the Co-op membership which sounds super beneficial. As soon as I find the right shoes ill make sure to become part of the Co-Op.

Walmart can tell you what aisle has a $3 item; REI cannot locate a $1,000+ item that the website and even the store team thinks is in stock.

I don’t think I’ve ever left a review, but that visit was electric. The people in there were unreal everyone was so friendly, I could’ve stayed in there all day just chatting.
