I've been coming for yeas and have always left satisfied. Super fun, super scary. There's a really cool Halloween-Themed experience set up there before you even reach the haunted house itself once you enter the area, complete with a gift shop, a bar, multiple snack choices, a fortune teller, a Haunted wax museum, and multiple spooky carnival games. That alone would make this attraction worth going to, but of course, the main event is what always earns the full 5 stars. It's always improving upon itself, getting better and cooler each year. A definite staple in our yearly Halloween traditions in my home. Definitely go if you haven't yet (and even if you have). It's a great time.

Super fun and scary house!! Bought tickets in advance which made life easy. Paid $33 and had a great time. The actors were fun to interact with. Only complaint is that I felt the house walkthrough was SO quick especially for the price, but still a good time. One of the better haunts I’ve been to. Also - loved the guy at the front of the house that let us in. He was so much fun!

Our first visit to Realm of Terror Haunted House was absolutely incredible and we are so glad we finally checked it out. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere hits you with intense energy and you can feel the suspense building. The actors nail the timing on their scares and the whole experience keeps you alert and on edge the entire time. Every section is filled with insane detail and unique themes that clearly took a lot of creativity and dedication to build. I read a little bit about how the owner actually started this at the age of 13, and that passion really shows. This is not a seasonal hobby. This haunted attraction has been growing and evolving for years because someone genuinely loves creating fear in the most thrilling way possible. You can see the care in every dark hallway and twisted design choice. We left with that perfect mix of laughter and adrenaline that only a truly terrifying haunted house can deliver. If you are looking for the best haunted house near Lake County or anywhere in the Chicago area, Realm of Terror Haunted House should be your first stop. We are beyond happy with our experience and will definitely be coming back next year with even more friends who think they can handle it. Highly recommend if you want something unforgettable and professionally terrifying.

Very fun and scary haunted house, full of a combination of live ghoulish actors, animatronics, light and fog effects, and creepy staging. Definitely scary in a fun, haunted-house-full-of-zombies way, not one of those haunted houses that resembles an abandoned warehouse where people are constantly coming at you with chainsaws. LGBT-friendly, and there is a whole outdoor area full of games, food carts, and a monster museum that you can visit before or after going through the haunt. Be warned that there are many low doorways and narrow halls you have to navigate while in the actual haunted house, but I'd definitely recommend it for most people!

This was my second time visiting Realm of Terror after not going for at least nine years, and this visit was by far my favorite. They have definitely upgraded the space, and the thrills, haunts, and creativity were simply amazing. We arrived around 6:45 p.m. to catch all the characters coming out for their haunted parade, which really set the tone for the night. We got in within about 30 minutes using the regular line without having to pay for express or VIP. I went with just my husband, and it was definitely creepy navigating those dark, tight spaces with plenty of jump scares and eerie visuals. When you think you’re done, you quickly realize you’re only halfway through. The group ahead of us even bowed out through an emergency exit, but we were troopers and made it to the end. Even after finishing the long maze, we found ourselves wanting more because the adrenaline was still pumping. Huge kudos to the team for creating such an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back.
