I contacted quality screening window and door about replacing hurricane windows which had breached and fogged. I had contacted the company that did the original installation and they said that the window was no longer produced and I would have to replace the entire window and it was not covered by warranty. The owner of quality said that the glass should still be under warranty and contacted the manufacturer, obtained replacement glass under warranty and repaired the window (at a very reasonable cost).
The service was done very professionally and workmanship was excellent.
Honesty and integrity is so difficult to find in home remodeling and my experience speaks for itself.

I would highly recommend Quality Screening, Window & Door as a vendor for replacement windows and doors. They installed 12 sliders in my home; the work was done efficiently and everything worked properly. Quality Screening was one of the few vendors that I contacted whose employees actually do the work. Many of the vendors use subcontractors or 1099 employees. Quality screening was easy to work with everybody from front office to the installers we're polite and friendly. They were also the low bid of the 6 quotes I received

When I decided that I needed new windows, I obtained 3 bids. While Quality Screening was not the lowest bid I received, it was not the most expensive bid I received. My selection came down to do I want a locally owned business that I can call upon for service or the lowest bid which would install the windows but I was unsure who would support me after installation. I was extremely happy with the knowledge and teamwork of the installation team as well as the experience of the installation. I would recommend Quality Screening Window & Door.

Do impact doors provide security benefits?
Yes, impact doors are highly secure due to their reinforced materials and shatter-resistant glass, making them more difficult to break into compared to standard doors.
What is the difference between an impact door and a hurricane door?
• Impact doors are designed with reinforced materials and specialized glass to withstand impacts from flying debris during storms.
• Hurricane doors are a broader category that includes doors designed to withstand high winds and pressures. Impact doors are a type of hurricane door but are specifically tested for debris impact resistance.
Are all hurricane doors impact-rated?
No, not all hurricane doors are impact-rated. Some are only tested for wind pressure and may not include the reinforced glass or materials needed to resist flying debris. Always check the specific rating and certification of the door.
Are impact doors more expensive than regular hurricane doors?
Yes, impact doors are generally more expensive due to their specialized construction, which includes laminated glass and reinforced framing to withstand debris impacts.
Can impact doors withstand category 5 hurricane winds?
Most impact doors are tested to withstand winds up to 200 mph, depending on the specific model and certification. This typically covers Category 5 hurricane wind speeds.
Do I need shutters with impact doors?
No, impact doors eliminate the need for shutters because the glass and frame are built to resist both wind and debris impact. However, you can use shutters for added protection if desired.
Are impact doors energy efficient?
Yes, many impact doors are energy-efficient, as they often include insulated glass and weather-tight seals to improve energy performance and reduce heat transfer.
Can impact doors reduce noise?
Yes, impact doors provide excellent soundproofing due to their laminated glass and solid construction. They help reduce external noise significantly.
Are impact doors required by building codes?
In hurricane-prone areas, local building codes may require impact-rated doors or hurricane-rated doors for new construction or major renovations. Always check your local regulations.
