One star for what appears to be good work, and two good guys who did the work. Minus four stars, though, for quoting me $1300 and charging $1150 (after a "discount" for agreeing on the spot to $150 off if I agreed to have the work done the next day). It turned out to be two hours of work, and a tad, on site and maybe one hour loading the truck and stopping at Lowes to buy some drop cloths. Assuming (very generously) that work is charged at $85/hr/person (surely a far cry from what his two guys were being paid) and that the 9' of stainless steel 6" vent and cap were maybe $250, that's $85/hr * 3hr/person * 2person + $250 = $760. When Donald quoted a price he told me, when I challenged him, that it'd take his guys essentially all day to do the work ("certainly not enough time for another job the same day", he said). Not knowing any better (though suspicious), I took him at his word and agreed to have the work done. The guys arrived at around 10 AM, were cleaning up by shortly after noon, and were gone by 12:30PM. And I asked them: yes, they were headed for their next job. I called Donald and explained why I thought the price was unfair. He did not relent. So I paid. And he gets this review. I appreciated the work, but think I got taken for a ride on the price, which I accepted on the basis of what I personally believe was a mis-representation of the time that would be required for the work (essentially all day vs. 2.5 hours plus loading and travel). I thus regretfully suggest that you look elsewhere for chimney work if you want good work done at a *reasonable* price based on an *honest* assessment of what it will take. Donald gets my money, and this review. Hope it was worth it. Wasn't for me.

My wife had set up an appointment to have a chimney swept. A few weeks ahead of time, when the day came there was no service, no technician, no office staff ... absolutely nobody to talk to to find out what was going on. Update ::: second time they were supposed to show they called and postponed till the following day 😒 We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
