Definitely an improvement on their wings. I got the Lemon Pepper Dry Rub. The fries were kind of icky- old, hard, cold end bits, but I'm chalking it up to being a Monday night. Ordinary they are good. The bartender was friendly and attentive with a busy bar. My to-go pizza was not appealing. Maybe it's just me, but I dont like char-blackened pizza.

My initial review was one of annoyance because they didn’t have my game on, but I finally talked to the manager and I have the game, just remember sports bars should always have every game on so that fans from anywhere coming into your restaurant can watch the team they support. Manager was cool, the food is great, service is excellent, so I highly advise coming here just make sure they got your game on!

Primanti Bros. is notoriously inconsistent with food and service. Happily, my recent visit to the McCandless outpost was excellent. My BEC sandwich, with fries on the sandwich as expected ;-), was prepared prompt and accurate. Service was quick and friendly. Keep it going folks!

French fries do not belong on a sandwich 💯. There, now I got that out of the way. I always remembered Primanti Brothers from a PBS tv show called “Sandwiches you will love” from many years ago. I have checked a few off the show list already. So I was excited to try one here. What’s special is most all the sandwiches are just under $10, so a tremendous value. Even their location inside the Pittsburgh Airport has the same prices as all the other locations 🙌. I went with the pastrami version which comes standard with cheese, signature coleslaw, and fries all between Italian bread. I had a suspicion I’d be removing the fries after a few bites, but I wanted the full Primanti experience at first. I was very surprised to see the thick cut Italian bread is straight out of the bag without toasting or grilling. Then coupled with the fries that must’ve immediately turned mushy from the coleslaw, it made for an extremely dry sandwich. Unlike a Rueben, there wasn’t any condiment on the sandwich, so even after removing the soft french fries that had soaked up the moisture of the slaw, I was left with a chintzy amount of pastrami, cheese, and cabbage on these thick planks of dry bread. I couldn’t muster another bite so I just picked the few strands of pastrami off. I suppose if it was the depression era, and it was my only meal while working hard in the steel mill all day like their history states, I’d be more grateful for the carbs, starch, and protein. But today, I was very disappointed and left hungry.
I’ve eaten here ALOT, more than I’m comfortable admitting if we’re being honest. Most of the food is solid, I see no drop off with sandwiches when compared to the strip or market square. Do not order the pizza, they can’t get it right for the life of them but if you want pizza at primantis you have problems of your own. Wings are okay but on the smaller side if we’re being honest.
Had a server named Heather and she’s a different story compared to the food, one of the more rude people I’ve ever dealt with in service. She seemed upset if you would ask for anything (refills, cups of sauce, empty ketchup bottle refill), did not seem to interact pleasantly with her co-workers either, and smelled terribly like cigarettes, to the point it was unbearable if she was near you for more then a few seconds.
Overall I’ve had good experiences here and everyone else I dealt with were wonderful and truly seemed happy to be there.
