  Love the course layout and conditions. But get some marshalls out there. Played Tuesday morning and there were four groups on hole 8. One group on hole 9 tee box with no one else in sight. Ended up being almost a 3-hour back 9.

  Outstanding layout, beautiful scenery and challenging shots on every hole. I played the Silver tee boxes and was very impressed with the efforts needed to score. Fairways are cut perfectly, greens (even though told they had been punched) rolled smooth and true. I would play here again without hesitation. The greens fees were more than fair for a mid week tee time ($79). I live in Florida and play on similar courses in yardage but never experience the sheer beauty as Potomac Shores. Try this course out and absorb the beauty and challenge, you’ll not be disappointed.

  Potomac Shores is one of the best public golf courses in all of Northern Virginia. This Jack Nicklaus design is stunning and in immaculate condition and is the only public course designed by the golden bear in Virginia. The course itself is incredibly challenging and features dramatic elevation changes, severely undulating greens, and very few even lies making for a real test for all skill levels. The staff were friendly and treated me amazingly during my round.
