Was seen by this orthopedic doctor for workman's comp injury, whose bedside manner was very impatient, confusing, and generalized having a demeaning tone, indicating that an obvious injury is non conclusive due to my personal mental health diagnoses, he considered me a unreliable self reporting patient. Its important to note I am a RN of 15 years, and his report was completely different than the PT report, and the original orthopedic treating physician. Due to his report, he has placed me back to full duty emwith no restrictions despite obvious presentation of muscular and joint injury. 35 years or not, I suggest to this physician, please consider your patients other diagnoses, especially if they are mental health related and neurological involvement. I would not recommend seeing this physician if you need a physician who is patient, considerate or truly cares about your health or injury.
Bedside manner is just as critical as the actual assessment. Simply saying that you have 35 years of experience doesn't discount that each patient deserves the right to compassionate and personalized care. Maybe consider retirement if you do not have patience to give to your patients.
