Avoid this rip-off for dog spay. Information on website is wrong. It leads you to believe a spray would be $80 for a dog 60 pounds or less, with additional cost for larger dog. And possible additional charges for pain meds, etc.(expected). Over the phone I’m told it’s up to $160 for the spay itself for a sixty pound dog. And they can’t tell you how much until pickup. Perhaps a decision point is if the vet needs a boat payment.

I guess I’ll join the ranks of people giving this place one star. I’ll start by saying that I foster cats and kittens, so I have utilized many vets in the metro area and have great relationships with the vast majority of them. PPI, however, has been terrible since I started working with them. The only reason I did was because of the low cost of spay and neuter. I won’t go into the many aspects of how bad their customer service is, since many people have written about the rudeness of the front desk staff. I will point out that the office manager said to a coworker, in front of me, while I was checking cats in for surgery, “I don’t like cats.” Okay, why are you working for a vet then? And why would you say that in front of a client who was dropping off cats for surgery? Now for the mistakes: the first one was when I asked for nail trims on three semi-ferals I was taming. They didn’t do the nail trims but charged me for them. When I brought this to their attention, they said they couldn’t do a refund but would credit my account. The next time I was there, they had no record of the credit and seemed annoyed that I asked about it. They said, rudely, "Why do you want nail trims on ferals anyway?" None of your business, frankly, since I paid for the service. Then was the time they forgot to ask me to fill out paperwork and called me half an hour later, saying they couldn’t do surgery without the paperwork. I asked if they could email me something, but they wouldn’t, so I had to leave work to come back in. This recent time was the final straw. I asked for FIV/FELV tests on two kittens, and they said they were unable to get blood for the tests. This is an incredibly basic vet tech task. A vet office should have someone who can draw blood from a friendly kitten. Also, they were anesthetized for surgery. They could have taken blood then. For the record, when I took the same kittens to my personal vet the next day, they had no issue drawing blood for the test. I asked if they could try one more time to draw blood, which they got with no problem. However, they never sent me the test results (which I paid for). Also at this same visit, they did a horrible botch job on a kitten’s cryptorchid neuter. The incision looks terrible. Also, they didn’t tell me that there were stitches that need to be removed. I luckily am competent at noticing things like this, but imagine if I didn’t know and they never mentioned it. I wanted to give this place a chance since they’re so cheap and they’re close to me, but I would rather drive into town for one of the many low cost spay/neuter clinics that is competent, respectful, and treats their clients like they’re glad they are clients, rather than acting like it’s an inconvenience to perform veterinary services on my cats.

I’ve heard wonderful things about Dr. Jeff and Planned Pethood for a long time now. They are difficult to reach by phone, but it’s worth the scenic trip up there for urgent care or just to make a future appointment. Our pup Ally had a mouth tumor, which had been previously diagnosed as a death sentence. Thank goodness I trusted my intuition and visited Planned Pethood for a second opinion. Ally was immediately taken back for surgery, and the tumor removed. Their prices are night and day compared to average vet prices. Bloodwork, surgery, cytology and two medications came to $600, and the bulk of that was $300 for cytology, which along with bloodwork was optional. We have found our new vet🥰 Thank you Dr. Jeff and Planned Pethood for saving our Ally👐🏼

Don’t try to make an appointment and don’t expect a call back I went here for the first time yesterday and was very impressed with the clinic! It is a no frills, no bs operation, where animals AND their owners are prioritized. My cat needed a mass removal, so I called and listened to the recorded options. Their recorded options instructed me to come anytime Tuesday-Friday from 10-2pm for that specific problem. I had never worked with a clinic in this way, but I decided to just go with the flow and walk in. When I arrived, there were a couple people waiting in line. Once it was my turn, a woman at the front desk assisted me. She was pretty blunt but hey, it has to be a tough job. The vet techs tried a couple times to inspect my cat, but he can be quite aggressive, so I ended up having to wait a few hours for a room to open up so that I could be the one to handle him for the doctor. Yeah, it was a long wait, but I think that’s just part of how this place operates. It doesn’t have the premium, streamlined service or communication of other clinics but that’s why their prices are so low. Dr. Tyler Robic saw us around 3pm and was able to remove the mass, give my cat a teeth cleaning and send him back home with me by 6pm. The mass removal was 300 and teeth cleaning was estimated at 1200 (price includes all extractions). Final price for everything (including a cone, take-home pain meds + sedative) ended up being 1100 I believe. I was so pleased with the experience and I would not have been able to do all of this for my cat if it weren’t for this clinic’s low prices. I have been to other clinics where I was guilted into expensive procedures, tests, medications, food. I just want to make sure my cat lives a healthy life, but I often leave the vet feeling either like a bad pet owner or a total shmuck for shoveling money into unnecessary products/tests/procedures. I am very grateful that Dr. Robic was straight forward, kind and honest. In short: Don’t call, just show up. Bring something to do while you wait. Be patient and understand that this clinic is affordable BECAUSE they put their efforts into in-person care. Photo of my cat, high on pain meds, in his fortress of solitude lol

We brought our boy here with hopes that he could be saved. Unfortunately and unexpectedly he left us on this day. This was such a punch to the gut and an unbearable pain. What I can say about the staff here is they were all so sympathetic. The vet was amazing and truly one of a kind. Thank you sir for sitting with us grieving with us and taking your time. We are lost without our boy. I dont know how it would have went if we took him somewhere else. Even to his last breath our dog was given the respect he deserved. Planned Pethood good work and thank you.
