- PGPeter Ginn4 days ago1.0Busy gym with aging and obsolete equipment. 4/8 stair climbers completely inoperative. Various other equipment will have “temporarily out of order” signs posted for greater than 2 weeks at a time. The franchise owner appears to be completely disinterested in basic maintenance and safety as the temporary fixes do not result in long term solutions. Equipment at other Planet Fitness gyms is much newer and has never malfunctioned on me mid workout resulting in near injury. I expressed polite concerns to the staff about this experience and was informed the franchise owner has been made aware of these chronic problems and the lack of maintenance repairs by the contracted individual. When I asked if I could escalate staff appeared to think the owner would not care. So this is my attempt to hopefully draw the attention of the owner from negative publicity which is not my MO. The aging cardio equipment is need of significant refurbishment or ideally replacement in the interest of public safety. (Speaking as someone who escaped injury when a previously repaired device malfunctioned yet again).
