The team at Pine Plains Vet is phenomenal. It starts with Adele, Heidi, Angela, & Angelina they start the process by answering the phones and being at the front desk as well as checking out, then to working with Becky and Dr VanKleeck. No matter what type of visit I’ve been there for well visit or sick visit., They are always very welcoming, professional, understanding and down right amazing I cannot thank them enough for always being there and doing an amazing job!! I’ve been a customer for 27 years and HIGHLY recommend them!!! ( and Kudos to the staff in the back ground I may have not mentioned)

I’ve been making monthly visits this past year with my 13 year old cat, Quincy, for respiratory issues. Vets and their teams often deal with challenging and emotionally taxing situations. Recognizing their kindness and care for my pet, and for me as the pet owner, is very meaningful. I would like to kindly thank both Dr. Holly Kalba and Dr. Caroline Helm-VanKleeck for patiently treating and explaining Quincy’s condition in a way I could understand, and I truly appreciate your calm and reassuring manner. It is very important for me to remember that Medical emergencies both for pets and humans can create a emotional roller coaster that can cloud judgment, triggering reactive feelings that distort our perspective and weaken our ability to reach vital goals.

We are from Florida and are visiting family in the area. When our Sheltie became ill, our family referred us to Pine Plains Veterinary Hospital. The entire experience from our initial call to our time with Sarah, Vet Tech and Dr. Kalba was such a positive experience. Thank you all for your kindness, patience and expertise!

Bug our 12 year old female Pug mixed breed puppy mill rescue has been a long time patient at Pine Plains Veterinary Hospital (PPVH). Sad to say over the years Bug has manged to have many health issues, heart problems, liver and galbladder issues But through it all Dr. Kalba and staff have kept Bug's "issues" under control. One thing Bug never has had is a problem eating! A more food motivated dog you've not seen. So back on June 13 when she wouldn't eat we knew something was very wrong with her . We called PPVH, it was a Friday morning and were able to get her in to see Dr. VanKleek. Dr. VanKleek and Becky took down all we told them that had been going on with Bug. Her galbladder/liver problem was the main concern. Blood was drawn and we were told that we would have results the next morning and they would be in touch. Saturday morning came and Dr. Vankleek called with news that was not good, Bug's lab numbers were dire. Bug need treatment beyound what PPVH would be able to give her. Knowing that Bug was also a patient at Upstate Vetrinary Specialties (UVS) in Latham, NY, she told us to get Bug up to UVS without delay. She said she would send up Bug's lab work to UVS as we spoke. We called UVS and said we were on our way. A very long and stressful story short, Bug's galbladder was removed. Since Bug's recovery she has her old appetite back and she seems to act and feel a lot better too! Alas, however with her galbladder absent some of her favorite snacks are off the menu. We can not say enough good things about how Pine Plains Veterinary Hospital's managed Bug and us thru this very difficult illness. Dr. VanKleek said what needed to be said and made sure we understood the situation was life threatening for Bug. Upstate Veterinary Specialties was also first rate and enough good can not be said about them. It takes something like this to make you realize how important your Vet is. The care your pet recieves from folks like Dr. Kalba, Dr. VanKleek, Becky and the rest of the staff at PPVH should not be taken for granted. A very big Thank You to them all from Bug and her parents Susan & Jerry Gilnack
