I received a call from State farm, my auto insurance agency thanking me for choosing them. And offering any help or questions I may have or need. Which I have never had an auto agency office offer this kind of gesture in my life. It was perfectly timed as I had questions on this date before they called. Extremely helpful, listen to my questions, and even quoted discount due to my updates I reported, and changed my coming balance due upon renewal as we spoke. After 30 years of dealing with various insurance providers, my experience with State Farm has been, by far, the most disappointing. The true measure of an insurance agent’s quality becomes evident when issues arise, not when they’re simply collecting premiums. While State Farm agents were courteous during the signup process, their support crumbled when I needed assistance.
My adult son had a separate policy that, unbeknownst to me or him, was set up for recurring billing on MY credit card. This went unnoticed for many months, as I already had four other policies with State Farm, and frequent payments seemed normal. When I suspected I was overpaying and contacted "my agent", Perry, I discovered I had been charged for a policy I did not authorize. Instead of offering help, Perry avoided my calls, ignored my concerns, and sent a single text directing me to call the 1-800 number. This lack of personal accountability was shocking.
For over a month, I’ve been trying to resolve this issue with no progress. The runaround from State Farm’s customer service has been frustrating and unacceptable. If you’re considering State Farm, be cautious— their support may falter when you need it most.
