Review of “Permanent Roofing System” installation of our “Classic Country Manor Shake” metal roof. After viewing the Permanent Roofing System display and visiting with Rodney Crothers at the Oklahoma City Home Show we invited their company to meet with us at our home to discuss replacing our 25-year old composition roof. Todd Ellis and Rodney Crothers came to our home, gave us a price bid, and explained the installation process. After spending several hours researching the Country Manor Shakes and reviews on the Permanent Roofing System Company, we requested another meeting in which they provided answers to three pages of questions we had prepared. Their answers and our research gave us confidence in their product and workmanship; and we signed a contract. Their crew and materials arrived on schedule and the work began. My wife and I are both retired so I spent most of my time during the first three days of installation observing the work of the six-man crew. They had five workmen on the roof and one on the ground nearly all the time. It was obvious to me that each employee knew exactly how to perform their job. At the end of each day there was no trash or scrap materials in our yard and their tools were neatly stored. The complete installation took six and one-half days. Rodney or Todd came by routinely to ensure everything was going well. As I write this review it has been four months and two weeks since the job was completed. We have had near record rainfall, winds in excess of 50 mph, and temperatures near 100 degrees F. with no problems or issues. Our attic space is about 25 to 30 degrees cooler on the hottest days than previously. We have a two-story house with a 10:12 pitch. We also have a significant amount of valleys, hips, ridge, and gables; along with areas where the roof joins a surface with brick or vinyl siding. Permanent Roofing installed all new flashing which is color matched to the new shake color. To summarize this review we say we could not be more pleased with our beautiful new roof. In our opinion it is a great product installed with exceptional workmanship at a fair price. Vernon & Janice B.

My house was hit with devastating hail in April 2021. Jason and his crew were able to repair everything (roof, fence, gutters, gate) at budget. His team was very reliable and the handy men did great quality work.
We will definitely continue to work with them when we need home repairs.
Frequently Asked Questions About Permanent Roofing Systems
Does aluminum cost more than other roofing products?
There are aluminum roofs that were installed over 30 years ago are still in good condition and will outlast the home. As a matter of fact, at today’s price for scrap aluminum, the salvage value of some of the first aluminum roofs we installed would exceed the original cost of the roof. Virtually all other roofs installed 30 years ago have been replaced one or two times and each time they were replaced, they were more expensive than the first time. Many need to be replaced as we speak. Add the energy savings and the fact is: aluminum roofing doesn’t cost, it pays.
Our metal roofs are coated with HI-R heat reflective coatings, which helps to create a cooler, more energy-efficient home due to the special reflective pigments embedded in the finish. The complex chemical structure of these pigments reflects away the infrared portion of the sun’s rays most responsible for heat buildup. So, while maintaining color consistency and fade protection, HI-R Heat Barrier Technology provides all the advantages of greater reflectance, without sacrificing color choice.
Will an aluminum roof make my house hotter?
Just the reverse is true. Aluminum reflects 90% of the sun’s radiant heat and actually makes your home cooler. Our aluminum roof customers claim up to 30% savings on their entire electric bills after installing the aluminum roof on their homes.
What about noise?
Classic aluminum roofing will make your home quieter. Classic aluminum roofing, in most cases, can be installed over your existing roof and decking. Combine our custom foam backer with your attic space and insulation, you get excellent noise reduction.
Can I walk on the metal roof?
Yes, with the optional foam backer, the Classic aluminum roof is one of the rare roofs you can walk on without doing damage. For steep roofs, wearing soft sole shoes and traction is better than other roofing products.
Composition and stone coated steel roofs lose important protective granules every time you step on them. Stone coated steel will dent or cave in if you do not step on the battens. Walking on these roofs can void the warranties. Wood shingles can split, and clay or concrete tile can break when you step on them.
Do I need to remove my existing roof?
In most cases, no. The aluminum shakes are extremely light weight and can be installed over most existing roofs. Therefore, every penny you invest in this roof goes towards the roof itself bypassing costly tear off and disposal charges not to mention filling up landfills.
Will an aluminum roof lower my insurance premiums?
The Classic Aluminum Shake is a Class IV hail rated shingle, which has been known to bring up to 30% reduction on homeowners’ insurance premiums.
What will hail do to an aluminum roof?
The Classic Aluminum Shake is guaranteed not to leak as a result of any size hail! Classic Country Manor Shakes have passed the UL 2218 Impact Resistance Test at its most severe level, Class IV. Combine that with our custom form fitted foam backer that reduces denting, now you have one of the most hail resistent roofs on the market. With this type of protection, homeowners with Classic Metal Roofs are able to receive insurance discounts up to 35%.
What about fire?
Permanent Roofing Systems leads the way in fire protection for your home. Many wildfires spread from home to home, consuming both possessions and life. Aluminum roofing gives you the best of both worlds. It resists fires from airborne sparks or bottle rockets from the exterior. Because of the low melting point of aluminum, a fire starting on the inside will be allowed to burn through the aluminum roof and vent the smoke and fire. Oftentimes, these fires start on the rooftops caused by wind-blown sparks and embers. With a Classic Country Manor Shake installed by Permanent Roofing Systems you can rest easy knowing that your home and family are protected from deadly and destructive flames by non-combustible roofing materials.
Will an aluminum roof affect the resale value of my home?
Classic country manor shakes can add to the resale value of your home. Not all new roofs will; some can actually hurt the resale value. This may sound frivolous but the primary reason a roof adds resale value to your home is if it is more attractive. Realtors call it curb appeal. Landscaping and roofing are the two most dominating features of your home. If you don’t stop the car, you don’t sell the house, no matter what you’ve done on the inside
What about lightning?
Lightning is more attracted to the HEIGHT of a structure more so than the material it is made of. This is why trees get struck more often than homes.
