Maintenance guys are awesome and very responsive. We have a computer type lock and it broke and Kenny stayed with me for about 6 hours. Troubleshooting called the company and a locksmith, Kenny was able to fix the situationna and he stayed with me the whole time. The view of the park is awesome, garage is great, concierge helpful, overall nice building to live in, i would recommend. Management is pretty nice too but I appreciate the maintenance and their response, especially Kenny.

It used to be a pretty building that was well-maintained by the staff that worked here. However, now under the management of Devonne and Keisha, there has been a significant downgrade to the community. Even now, rather than addressing resident concerns, they have taken to marking our reviews as “spam” and having Google remove them. Over the last six months, there have been more bugs, leaks, paint / wall paper peeling, carpets coming undone, and major issues with doors. The overnight staff sleep at the desk. The HVAC system keeps failing so we have lobbies and hallways at 80degrees. They routinely give false information about when repairs or replacements will arrive. Similarly, at the beginning of the pool season 10 of the 15 pool umbrellas disappeared. Keisha said she would look into it and after two months, we can only hope that she is still looking into it On their best management days, communication is spotty and incomplete. They leave stacks of mail unopened and unattended for weeks at a time (even when there are rent checks in the stack). Enjoy the pretty location, but don't expect emails with explanations as they prefer to do things on the phone to avoid there being a record of their conduct.

Resident since 2020 – Warning to future residents: I’d planned to remain a devoted resident of Park Van Ness, but the leasing office’s handling of my recently requested transfer has completely shattered that confidence. What went wrong: Staff initially agreed to process my transfer to Unit 710, but never told me a formal online application was required — despite the unit being publicly listed until the last minute. I thoroughly documented all communications (emails, timestamps, in-person witness) yet was told the unit had been leased “moments after” I agreed to take the paperwork in person. When I raised concerns about this gross miscommunication, management responded not with transparency, but with accusatory and retaliatory language referencing a past incident, one that had already been resolved. The tone was hostile, dismissive, and unprofessional. I’m left with only poorly comparable, much smaller units (~526 sq ft) offered at my previous rate. These are not remotely equitable to either my current unit or the intended transfer. I pulled out of another application (Hampden House) solely because I trusted Park Van Ness to act in good faith. This experience starkly contrasts with other reviews that praise friendly staff and a great community atmosphere. In reality, the leasing team failed to act with urgency or basic transparency during a critical decision process. Takeaway for prospective residents: You may enjoy the building amenities and rooftop pool, but beware of the leasing office, especially if you're trying to transfer or renew. Misleading communication, sudden changes, and a culture of defensiveness toward resident concerns are real risks here. Proceed with caution and document every single interaction with paper follow-up and video recording.

DAVID AND SUMI ARE THE BEST. Literally I am sad to leave because they make living at Park Van Ness so wonderful. Any building would be lucky to have them.

I just want to let you know that the lady that is working in the evening shift at the front desk is very rude... no manners at all. You should recruit people that really can handle a front desk position with grace and elegance!
