It’s hard to write such a bad review when Paradise has been our family jeweler for years, with much success. However, due to poor communication, quality control issues, misrepresentation of the final product, and unwillingness to fully correct mistakes, I cannot support this business anymore. My fiancée commissioned Paradise Jewelry to design my engagement ring in March 2025. While the initial consultation was promising, the process quickly became frustrating due to the owners forgetfulness, which led to rare updates, and required me to consistently initiate communication.
Upon the first scheduled pickup, it was discovered by my fiancée that a side diamond had been broken during the construction of the ring. After repair, the ring's overall quality was disappointing, with a noticeable mismatch in diamond color, cut, and clarity. Rick attempted to pass this off as an excellent job, I had to adamantly insist that Rick (the owner) take accountability for the poor work passed off to me, and fix the issue.
Despite multiple attempts to rectify the issues, Rick refused to replace both stones to ensure a proper match. The final product was only grudgingly acceptable, as I emotionally could not go back a fourth time, nor did they reach out to me to check in on my satisfaction, or an apology, with the third try.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Paradise Jewelry for custom ring design due to poor communication, quality control issues, misrepresentation of the final product, forgetfulness which led me to not feel appreciated as a customer, and unwillingness to fully correct mistakes.

Out walking today and window shopping. My wife loves vintage rosaries and I’m always down to check out some time pieces. We came to Paradise Jewelers. The owner Rick and Mikey were there and very friendly and had lots of really nice jewelry, memorabilia of all sorts, baseball cards, Life Magazines, autographs and autographed sports merchandise, watches and, low and behold, some vintage rosaries. Thanks Mikey for taking time with us. What nice piece for her collection. Much appreciated. So, if you’re looking to buy or sell in the San Clemente area, I’d say Paradise might be where you should go first.
