Waited 10 minutes in front of an open cash register before being told that register was not being used. Then ushered to the back of a line. I left. This used to be a well run Panera. Not anymore.
Staff is amazing! Ricky, DeAndra, Dante, Eugene, and Matt are amazing!!! If you need anything, ask for one of them.
Service is fast, food is good, and the price is affordable. The half soup and sandwich combos are great. They offer speciality item during the season's such as: The strawberry basil lemonade, (Gone for the season, and the Lobster roll :(.
To make up for the loss of those two items, the chocolate chip cookies are amazing and a crowd pleaser!
Great customer service and excellent set up setting area for meetings.

Today was a heavy errand day. Lots if deadlines and family duties to complete. It is one of those days where when you get “above and beyond” service, it makes your day so much easier. Unfortunately, this Panera at Federal Plaza in Rockville, MD failed today. They “nickel & dimed” me in a way I was not used to. I am a sips club member so I get unlimited drinks as I work. But today they made it seemed like something was wrong when i requested a refill. I ordered a pick two meal and it just seems like the servings are shrinking beyond recognition. I am considering changing my “work away from home” cafe spot now. I don’t think the people that served me here were evil, just not that interested in going above and beyond.

Panera Corporate Management
I am writing to share my recent experience at one of your locations, which unfortunately did not meet the standards that I have come to expect from Panera.
From the moment I entered, it was clear that the facility was not being properly maintained. The floors were greasy and sticky, trash cans were full, and tables had not been wiped down. The environment felt unclean and unwelcoming, to the point where I did not feel comfortable sitting down to eat.
In addition, the staff appeared overwhelmed and unorganized. Several customers, including myself, waited a long time for our orders while employees struggled to keep up. They did not seem unfriendly so much as overworked and unsupported. At one point, a manager had to be called simply to help tidy the space — something that should have been done routinely without needing intervention.
This visit left me with a failing impression. Cleanliness and customer service are fundamental, and both were lacking. As a loyal Panera customer, I left disappointed and with my appetite ruined.
I respectfully recommend the following improvements:
• Stronger staff training and better scheduling support.
• Regular proactive cleaning, possibly through professional deep-cleaning services.
• Improved organization during busy periods to maintain service quality.
Panera is known for being fresh, comfortable, and welcoming. I hope this feedback is received in the spirit intended: to highlight urgent areas for improvement so that future visits reflect the Panera standard.
Sincerely,
Esteban Marquez
