  I was met with a disturbing experience at the cash register today, Sunday November 9th. I asked why the trash can was so nasty, trash spilling out onto to floor, just Nasty. Was told it was a result of the influx of customers. There's No excuse for being so Nasty that the trash is spilling out over onto the ground. The cleanliness is absolutely horrible. The bathrooms used to be very bad, now the same tactics have migrated to the preparation area. We go to Panera Bread because of its Professionalism. Panera Bread is usually strives to be a step above. Seems that has Changed ! Panera Bread get your act together.

  The lady that took our order was extremely rude to the older woman ahead of us - she got mad at her for not specifying that she wanted her bagel cut and threw quite a bit of shade that poor lady’s way with the way she spoke to her. When we were up to give our order, the same worker got mad at me because she said she could only take one person’s order at a time, even though I was telling her both of my kids wanted the same thing for breakfast (so I was ordering 2 of the same sandwiches at the same time). I told my husband not to tip her anything because of her terrible attitude with us and the woman that ordered ahead of us…and we tend to tip all the time. Also, the soda machine was being fixed and the worker had his drink and his tools laid all over the counter, making it way harder than it needed to be to get a drink while they worked on it. The food was good but not amazing. Another interesting observation I made while there was my family was the only one of color in the dining space (I have black kids and a Mexican husband), and it’s the first time I’ve experienced random people either smiling at us extra sweetly (the Minnesota equivalent of a Texan’s “bless your heart”) or giving us the side-eye all in one environment. Usually I don’t even notice that kind of behavior from others anymore, but it was crazy-noticeable in this establishment today! All in all, it wasn’t a super pleasant experience. We probably won’t visit Panera again when we’re in Mankato.

  They rushed an order ahead of time for my business and when I called to talk to them, Anthony picked up and gave me 5 star customer service! We love Panera over here at Aspen Dental Mankato!

  Friendly staff, very obviously over worked and understaffed. They were stressed out but still managed to keep a friendly demeanor.
