  I do not go to Panera often because we haven’t lived near one due to military life. However, while I was traveling to visit family in Alabama, I was craving a fountain Mountain Dew and remembered Panera was one of the few stores that had that product. And I just want to make note and thank the employee in the drive thru last week (Sept. 2025) for treating me with such kindness. So, thank you to this employee at the Panera in Gardendale for being kind to this military family. We have been going through some of the hardest things we have ever had to face and it’s just nice when someone smiles, looks you in the eye, and helps you out no questions asked.

  I’ve been here many times and our food has always been exceptional. I really love the quality of the sandwiches and soups. My kids enjoy coming here and are always excited when it’s cold outside and I pull up to Panera. Cons: I will say that I hate all their drinks and wish they would do better tasting, healthier options. All the special drinks they have are truly nasty. I did the drink subscription service and was highly disappointed with the options. It’s either those or sodas. I feel like they should have natural juices and smoothies, with the menu they offer. I’ve had slow service a couple times but overall it’s been decent. I also haven’t had one good pastry here. Sigh.

  Best one I've ate at yet, it was clean and the staff was Amazing especially Brandi 👌. She was on point and made sure to help with any questions I had. Yall go see them...

  I have ordered pick up from here often and never once had a bad experience. Great food and love the Chai tea!
