Founded in 1987 and celebrating its 30th year in business, Pan American Power has been serving its customers the best sales and service experience in the Power and Power Generation Industry.
Our original Founding mission was to provide the highest quality used and rebuilt Caterpillar Engines, Generators, Marine Transmission, and Parts to a global market of customers.
A few years before Hurricane Katrina, we rededicated ourselves and expanded our product offerings to include the sales, service and installation of Home and Light Commercial Standby Generator Sets.
Our company vision has always been benchmarked on providing top quality customer service, therefore to support our emerging line of business, we expanded our support network. We obtained and maintain current State of Louisiana licenses for Electrical and Mechanical work along with a Specialty License for Generator Installations. At our 12,500 square foot facility in Covington, we maintain a large new spare parts inventory for all of our generator lines; offer real time remote generator monitoring, and have factory trained service technicians available 24/7 to support our customers.
We now are authorized Sales, Service and Warranty providers for our preferred Generator Partners – Cummins—Kohler—Generac – and Briggs & Stratton but are capable of servicing any make or model of equipment.
As per our legacy, we continue to offer rebuilt Engines, Generators, Parts and Accessories along with engine dynamometer testing services at our facility.

- DMDavid Marshall6 days ago5.0Carl, Rachel and Deryl made doing business with Pan American Power a breeze. Carl was very knowledgeable about generators and their installation and operation. He presented us two options and we decided to go with Kohler. We’re so happy, no lag time on initial startup compared to the other brand. Quite operation and weekly run and diagnostic checks are much better. Note, I had the other brand, Generac at my previous home since 2007 and had used Pan American Power there. For Service after the sale, choose a company that’s been in business for years, Pan American Power, since 1987. Deryl and Rachel made the startup, scheduling and permitting process a snap. The crew that installed the Kohler whole house generator was on site, on time, professional, courteous, and most importantly, knowledgeable. They did the job right, passed inspection and left the job site clean. Note, we did get a few estimates, but went with Pan American Power, not because of price, that’s the first mistake most people make when buying a whole house generator. But because they were in business since 1987! You don’t install and service generators and remain in business for almost 40 years without doing the job right and servicing your customers!

There's also a discount on repairs. The office staff is easy to work with. The technicians are reliable and explain the services in easy to understand terms. Definitely am not changing!

The team was prompt, professional, and thorough from start to finish. The maintenance included replacing the battery after three years of active runtime, as well as an oil and filter change. They also checked the spark plugs to ensure everything was in good working order. I really appreciate how detailed they were in their work, explaining each step and making sure the generator was running at its best. They didn’t rush through the job and took the time to do things right. I feel confident that my generator is in top condition now, ready for any power outages. Highly recommend them for anyone looking for professional and reliable generator maintenance. I will definitely be using them again next year!
