We love to go to PJ’s, when there’s a great game to watch. We always order several appetizers, more then we need, have a few beers, and watch a game on one of their dozens of TV’s. It makes for such a fun, relaxing, Sunday evening out before the hustle of the week gets started. My Girl and I always come home with plenty of leftovers, because we order such a variety of apps! So delicious!! If you go to the West Chester location which is just off 202 near the Giant grocery plaza as you’re headed south towards Wilmington. Parking is easy and plentiful. Also, do me a favor, you can signup to be out on their waitlist, right on their website, if you suspect its going to be a packed house (maybe when the Eagles play the Cowboys), but I can tell you, every time I think I’ll need to be on the waitlist, it has always said, no need to jump inline, there’s no wait right now, YES!! This is definitely not the case with the PJ’s in Downingtown. I feel like every time I go there on a Sunday, they have a wait. I guess it’s never been terribly long wait, but definitely expect a wait at Downingtown if it’s Sunday and DEFINITELY if the Eagles are playing. Your going to wait 10-15 at min.
One last tip I would really appreciate if you could help me with!! I seriously never ever leave reviews, but I thought for all you West Chester’ites or West Chester’ians out there that I wanted to help benefit by steering you to the no wait, ultra fast service of the South West Chester location of PJ’s, just off 202, instead of missing the first 1/4 of play because your waiting to get a seat at Downingtown…. Please do me this favor, pretty Please. Ask to be put in Mallory’s section so that she’s your server! No, I’m not related to her, but the last few times my special lady friend and I were there, we got lucky enough to have Mallory as our server! Like I mentioned, we always just order a bunch of appetizers and a couple of Beers, then it’s not uncommon for us to sit at the same high-top and watch an entire game. As you’re aware, watching a whole football game takes hours. In so many other sports restaurants, tell me if you know what I’m talking about, I always feel super pressured to pay the bill and vacate the table so it can be flipped to a new customer. I know you know what I’m talking about, when the waiter or waitress comes to your table ever 10-15 minutes and asks, “would you like your check now?”… Gosh I hate that! It’s like, you’re a sports pub and bar, people come here to get food, have drinks and watch a game.. please stop trying to shew us out of here!!
Not Mallory though!! No she doesn’t ignore us, but she swings by every so often just to clear some unneeded plates, silverware and to see how low are beers are. As a matter of fact, I’ve never hit the bottom of my pint with out her already have asked if I’m ready for another, or, checking to see if we need to order anymore apps. Again, this may be the first official review I’ve left about any experience, good, bad or Ugly. And, No… Mallory is not a family member or friend that I’m trying to build up. She just a super sweet tiny waitress, who works her butt off, always meets us with a smile, has the absolute intention to make our Sunday evening as relaxing and entertaining as possible can be, and she has always made us feel welcome and DEFINITELY NEVER RUSHED!! All you need to do is sit back, relax, enjoy all the super delicious appetizers, order one of there very many delicious local craft beers, and enjoy whatever game your there to watch!
I sincerely hope the tip has helped!! No go let Mallory take care of your dinner and drinks, while you enjoy your game and hopefully the company of a special someone
