I went to this highly-rated sushi restaurant, expecting an amazing dining experience. Instead, I encountered an overpriced disaster with service so slow that I felt like I had fallen into a time warp.
The three of us were seated at the bar, right in front of a young male sushi chef who seemed tired and uninviting. We received our first orders slowly and finished them quickly, so we decided to order more. Again, it took a long time to get our food. We tried to be understanding, especially since he was only serving us compared to the other sushi chefs that night. Throughout our visit, we received only four sushi items.
Then, an elderly gentleman joined us with his grandson. We all kept waiting, and thankfully, a female chef noticed our disappointment and asked the male chef if he was okay. He muttered, "Yeah, I'm doing fine." At that point, I felt compelled to speak up because the waiting time was becoming ridiculous.
We were grateful when the female sushi chef stepped in and promptly brought us all our orders, even while serving her other customers. After finishing our sushi, we ordered ice cream desserts and requested the bill so we could leave. However, we had to flag down our waiter after waiting for 20 minutes. To our dismay, he replied, "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot!"
I don't want to sound overly dramatic about this experience, but it was the most awful experience we've had in Reno and Sparks. We will not be returning again.
