I brought my little granddaughter into Over the Moon Tonight November 6 2025 to look at the Maileg Mice etc. She was thrilled until the store clerk came up and ripped a basket of stuffies out of her hands and scolded all of us. It was then my granddaughter began to cry and throw a tantrum.
No people skills there! A little reasoning with a child would have gone a long way to curb the situation. Belittling parent and grandparent was not well received as well.
You have lost a customer who can afford your exorbitant prices. I appreciate quality but kindness and courtesy are more important. I can always find another store to get quality items.
Edit to add: The shop responded to my review and it won’t let me respond in turn, but I think they totally missed the point of my comments. My negative review was about the employee ripping the mice out of my granddaughter’s hands instead of kindly asking us to not touch. You are correct that we did not see the sign that said not to touch or else we wouldn’t have let her. Later she handed us a paper and when I went to reach for it she yanked it away and I felt totally snubbed. The customer service was QUITE lacking, and the response to my review and two huge paragraphs about the pricing (which my review was not about at all, just a side note that I can actually afford those boutique prices but will be spending my money elsewhere) shows that they STILL don’t understand or have compassion. Also the “table of toys” in the back was 2 boring little toys that were not interesting at all. Other boutiques we have been to allow us to touch the mice so we can see what my granddaughter gravitates towards, as that is what we would have purchased. If that’s the rule here, that’s fine, but some respect and understanding would’ve been nice when being told.

What a great employee you have in Sarah. I called looking for Jellycats and she sent me a photo of the Jellycats you had in stock. She was so kind and helpful. I found the one my granddaughter wanted. Thanks Sarah. 💕

I had been in the store once before 6 months prior. Then I went in with my daughter because they sell Jellycats. The young girl I talked to was soooo nice and made it a wonderful experience.
I returned to buy a Jellycat she put on hold for me, and talked about other places selling certain jellycats. Ended up that I was talking to the mother of the girl that helped me the night before. The girl super nice. The mother was okay and left me feeling unimpressed. I knew how she felt. She said bye luv and rushed off while I was still at the register. No other customers in the place, just other coworkers. Left unimpressed with service. I won’t be going back.

I can’t say enough about this store. I wanted to stay there all day and play. It’s so beautiful, cute, chic, and adorable. Trying to decide what to buy for my granddaughter‘s birthday, took me an hour, but Emma, the sweetest cutest cashier in the world, helped me so much. I commend her with the personable rapport she has with customers. I’ll be back for sure, with cash and my 2 daughters!!

The Maileg Ballerina event this store sponsored was the cutest event. From the mouse scavenger hunt to the freshly made ice cream and cookies, and a wand craft, this was a super fun and engaging event. The detail and care by the Over the Moon staff were incredible. We came across this post by chance and decided to attend. We aren't from Bountiful, and we were not familiar with this darling store. The amount of Maileg stock they display is unprecedented, and the rest of their children's clothing and toy items are the very best. Guaranteed, we will be revisiting this charming store often, not just for Maileg but for other gifts as well. We are looking forward to the holiday event. Thank you, Over the Moon, for a wonderful experience with my daughter and granddaughter! We will be back often just to shop.
